This looks interesting. With an odd number of episodes and the OVA, I hope for an adequate adaptation but the PV has my interest so far.

NOT.
INTERESTED.
The world that Kyon entered in the movie was like real life. Exactly like real life. This anime seems like it has anime styled hijinks, which just doesnt fit with that world, at all.

I always did prefer the perpetual poker face badass Nagato over the hopelessly shy Disappearance one, but I guess I'll just see where this goes.

Sugita Tomokazu will voice Nagato Yuki-chan no Shōshitsu's Kyon, return as Gintoki in Gintama and still be playing as Karasuma Tadaomi from the previous season (Winter) in Ansatsu Kyōshitsu. That's a lot of Sugita

The art style is slightly different from the Haruhi movie.

Those bouncing boobs, tho. I really hope this anime lives up to my expectations, and that Kyon keeps up being an ironical, cool guy.

Not quite. There are some hangovers of the previous worldline (particularly for yuki) although I'm not sure if the Anime will get that far. It's best to judge the final product rather than make assumptions.

Except this isn't a movie level production and is based on a separate ongoing series?
Hell, the original Haruhi series was "anime hijinks", sure it wasn't as "cartoony" but it was far from grounded in reality.
It is simply amusing when people raise there hands while yelling "NOPE,NOPE,NOPE!" when a new release simply is anounced out that isn't fitting there taste for whatever reason.

One of my favourite ongoing manga series. Can't wait to see this one. Love the humor and easter eggs in the manga, will be interesting to see how they translate on screen.
As for the PV, I can only spot things from before volume 4...wonder how far in they'll go. Most of the first 3 volumes are very episodic and romcom-ish. I enjoyed it, getting a good introduction to altered characters with familiar faces.
Except Haruhi, she is almost exactly the same. Same thing could be said for Koizumi.

I don't think anything could be said for Koizumi considering he barely ever appears and when he does he's practically a background prop.

But, when he does speak, he seems to be close to what he was in the original timeline...someone that was more than happy to go with Haruhi's whims.
