The quality is poor, to say the least, but from what I see, GAINAX seems to be truly remaking Neon Genesis Evangelion ala Hellsing Ultimate (the first two episodes, anyway, which had already animated stories, but were improved). The animation is new, but will that be all? I'll probably check it out, milking the franchise or not. And so will all of you. Search your feelings, you know it to be true. |

<3 eva, just hope they dont mess with the story all to much alil changes maybe draw out the storys of the children lil bit more or something of the sort, but ill def have to check it out

Some of the animation seemed to have been reused from the original series. But that sneak peek of Rebuild did look pretty cool, hopefully it will be released in the US shortly after it's DVD release in Japan...

I'm quite disappointed since this trailer didn't feature anything the fans hadn't seen before, I was hoping for new scenes that will give a good idea how the movie will be like.
Can't wait for watching the finished product though, I truly missed Anno's works and I have faith that he won't mess this up. |

It's not supposed to be a remake, though. Not like Hellsing Ultimate. Those whacky Gainax folks have said that it's a "new work", or rather, it's like they're taking all of the characters and such, and telling the story in a new and different way. Some things we already know being that Kaworu will show up much earlier, and there will be a mysterious new character (probably Anno amirite?????). Also I'm betting Kaworu will be even more gay this time around. |

The style doesn't seem to have changed much..it just looks newer. I can also spot some CG, and better animation on the Angels and humans.

The CG scares me. :(
I'm actually hoping they keep the overall feel of the original series and don't turn it into something like a happy school comedy. Anno is probably over his depression and it might effect this remake of the show. |

ya if Anno changes the over all feel of EVA with this thing ill be really pissed, thats the thing about the show that drawed me too it so much

I hope that isn't an omen! Although I don't mind updating it with some better animation and graphics, I hope that it doesn't change the feel of the show. I guess we'll see! |

The rumor I heard about it was that it will be focusing mainly on Shinji during his time at school. I'm guessing it might be something like FMP Fumuffu, as far as how it is done and connected to the show (while Fumuffu was done from parts that were left out and orignaly in the manga, I think it will be the same idea that Fumuffu had.) but prehaps without the comed.
Not sure how ture that is, but if it is false I hpe they dont ruin it by changing it too much. As far as making it better...other then the annimation, is there much they can change to improve it? Well i guess that all comes down to matter of opinion, but in mine. It is fine the way it is, the orignial. |

Given that I was led to believe this was supposed to be a rearranged version of the series, with events shown out of order and plot points either rewritten or completely created from scratch, the fact that this trailer shows almost exact reproductions of scenes from the first six episodes is more than a little disappointing to me. If this just ends up being Evangelion: The Shinier Retread, I'll be pissed. I was hoping for a new spin on things, not a new coat of varnish on the old spin. I have the Platinum Edition DVDs for that.

Episodes 25 and 26 of the anime and Death and Rebirth should've proven by now that Anno is not someone who would go out of his way to please the fans and that he cares more about actualizing his vision than giving the viewers what they want. I jus hope that this trait about him didn't change over the years. There will be three other Eva movies that will be released later on so this movie will only provide 25% of the actual story. |
