Oh sure, pick the guy who fires on civilians, betrays his friends, has romantic relationships with underage girls, and dropped an asteroid on the Earth (almost two). And he got the man he stole his name from killed and later named himself after the female anatomy (oh yeah... "Bajeena"... sure).

There are 3 possible explanations: 1. It's a stupid online poll to begin with, they answered based on apperance or on a whim 2. They truly do not care about personalities or plot development (this actually explains at least 35% of every anime series's existence), only about the art. 3. Humans can be vapid and they truly prefer bad boys. |

I'd argue a large part of it is his voice. Shuuichi Ikeda and Michael Kopsa voicing him always gives me goosebumps.
Besides, I always found Amuro to be a whining little goody two-shoes. |

Char is on Darth Vader's level. Literally. Kids here love Vader, dress up as him, and buy a bunch of his toys. Yet he kills millions, helped commit genocide, and does a bunch of other crazy stuff.
