Good thing Rebecca did this review, because the series never popped up on my Amazon recommendation page. And I thought I had it pretty well trained to tell me about any interesting new series.

Thanks for reviewing Rebecca, I've just grabbed this one on Amazon as I'm trying to find replacements for series that have ending or will do in the near future. This certainly sounds like my cup of tea.

Sounds like a definite must-read! As the reviewer says, it IS very timely. I'll be on the look-out for it!

I had this series on my radar ever since it was picked up,but it had a really silent release.I'll be sure to pick it up eventually. |

I'm probably one of the very few who have this series already on radar before it's licensed because it's listed on Comic Natalie's 2013 manga award (see http://comic-award.natalie.mu/2013/ search for 予告犯). It's admittedly on the bottom of the list, but I find pretty much everything that is listed before that is available to be worth a check so I am glad when I got licensed.
But though I listed it on my want to read list, I didn't know much about what it's about until this review, so I'm glad to know it's really interesting since the topic very timely. Perhaps that's why the author himself wanted it to be licensed as soon as possible. On a related note, all three previous works by this author (Manhole, Reset, Dud's Hunt) is available through less than legal means and they're a pretty decent read though Prophecy seems a lot more interesting because of it's timely subject matter (Reset and Dud's Hunt are more typical unnatural murder/survival game scenario with rather typical 'who's behind it' mystery and Manhole a typical 'genocide disease' scenario though it's interesting that the authorities are actually competent enough to contain said disease before it's too late and the conflict is more about who's behind it and what's his motivation) |

Nice to see everybody seems to like it I did'nt like this series most of the criticisms of the internet in it felt like I had heard it before, Overall this seemed to cover, a lot of the same questions of the effects of technolgoy on people and tchnology in general that Serial Experments Lain did years ago and better.

I was ignoring this since the cover seemed like just another crime/societal commentary series maybe trying to be hip. While I have read titles in that genre, most of them and the aesthetics such creators tend to favor get old to me. But, after reading the review I think I should give Prophecy a try.

I like realistically drawn seinen, so I'll keep my eye out for this, but it seems to me that a lot of the seinen and josei titles Vertical picks up are a bit...nihilistic and depressing. They need to get some romcoms or something
