Now this is the news that I've been waiting for! Hopefully with the rise of Haruhi's popularity in the States, this game will reach our shores.

*rolls eyes* Great, another gaming studio and platform jumping on the Haruhi bandwagon.
Let's recap shall we?
The Bewilderment of Haruhi Suzumiya for the PS2: I've seen the game ad, and I have to admit Haruhi looks pretty sweet in her new outfit, but I worry about the gameplay.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (tentative) for the PSP: This one is completely in the dark as to what is going to come out of it.
The Melancholy of Haruhi Sizumiya (tentative) for the Wii: Another dark horse.
I agree that Haruhi has taken the world by storm, but seriously, just what kind of game can you make out of Haruhi? The PS2 is already doing the Alternate Universe thing. The only other thing I can think of is a storyline (dating) sim, which will probably be the PSP, kind of like the Rozen Maiden game for the PS2 was. And as for the Wii... what could they possibly do for that? Play as Haruhi and grab Mikuru's boobs in real time?
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love Haruhi and the SOS-dan, but as the TV show stands right now, there really isn't anything to work with. Sagitarius III might be an interesting mini-game in one of them, but I don't really see a full game out of the 14 episodes so far seen. We'd need at least one to two more seasons before the real (good) ideas can sprout.

Also, we just need games for the DS and XBOX360 and then we've got the full set.
And why is it that the Haruhi game is coming out for the PS2 and not PS3 anyway? Wouldn't it benefit from the PS3 graphics engine? I mean after all the work Kyoto Animation put into it, you'd think they'd create a highly graphical game to answer it.

A semi-interactive dating sim is my call on the game. Use the Wiimote to perform a series of mini-games to score points such as...I don't know give Haruhi a backrub or something.

Ah, but you see, that would be rather risky and practically impossible. In japan there can't be any platform dating sims like that. They're rather strict when it comes to their platforms. I mean, they can't even put Sexy Jutsu Naruto in a game without a bathing suit on. The only such dating sim as what you're hoping for would be on the PC, and I don't think they make a Wiimote for that just yet.

Because the PlayStation 2 is still a lot more popular than it's next-gen counterpart, I guess. It could also be the higher development costs for the high-tech consoles, they're isn't a whole lot of anime based game on PlayStation 3 (Dynasty Warriors: Gundam and Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire) or Xbox 360 (Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja and Afro Samurai) after all.

Sure it would look really good, but that would mean that you'd spent more of development. And lets face most of the anime games are turn out as quickly as possible so that the game will be out while the fad is still going. Also the PS2 outsells the PS3 in Japan every week, and the there's already some insanely high install rate in japan. Just because the newest technology is out doesn't mean that we as consumer have to grab hold of them and play them.

It's not that unthinkable actually. In Feel the Magic, you wipe dirt of a girl while she makes erotic noises.
It'll be an sim-type game though, so it won't be brought here, unless we get Haruhi on TV and it skyrockets in popularity, which it won't.

Think about Haruhi for a moment. Now, what could you do with it? Damn near anything you want. Haruhi's so random in her own way that you could make a dating sim/mecha action/magical girl/horror/adventure game using those characters and it would fit the series perfectly.

This could be either very bad or very, very awesome. I was disappointed when I heard the Haruhi game was going to be for the Playstation 2, but now that Haruhi's coming to the Wii (which I have), I can't wait to see how it utilizes the control.

I uh...
Kinda feel like it'll use the controls in a pretty generic manner; it's hard to accept, but that's how it usually is right now...
...
But then, Resident Evil 4 is only 30$; people need to buy that: it's awesome.
