As much as I love the fact Idea Factory is bringing this stuff over...the sales will be bad.

Why do you say that? It'll be an early JRPG on the PS4 with the similar art style to Neptunia. So long as IFI isn't expecting 100's of thousands of sales, they'll be fine. Publishers of Japanese games don't aim to get millions of sales, they aim to make a profit. |

I know the concept of the game is good it's the platform and release method that will create a loss. The game is exclusive to PS4 and there are physical copies being made which ,while awesome, usually results in barely meeting quota or even not meeting it mainly because nowadays no one wants to buy physical copies of these kinds of 3rd party games. Digital is the way to go. I can't say for sure if the sales will be horrible mainly because it's unknown to me what percentage of PS4 gamers actively purchase Jrpgs or 3rd parties for that matter but we'll see. |

bs, most people are still buying hard copies. Most console games sold are still on the hard copies side. Digital market is very small for console gaming.
Please do you math. As long as they don't do use expensive English voice, release this game is cheap. The game is already there, translation is easy and cheap for this type of games. There is very little coding need to be done. Don't make up bs stuffs about you have to pay millions of jp voice. Those type of games target sell is like 10 to 30k in japan. 5 to 10k is probably a good number for them. |

Really glad this is coming over. The first RPG for the system. I think it's time for me to finally get a PS4

Look at it this way, everyone who owns a Sony console for Japanese RPGs had a PS3 and will upgrade to PS4. With Type-0 HD, Omega Quintet, Persona 5 all coming in 2015, there's definitely going to be JRPG fans lining up to own a PS4. Not only that, but a good chunk of people switched over from Xbox to Sony this generation because it's cheaper and graphically more impressive. I don't think you'll have to worry about PS4 owners buying JRPGs like this one. On another note, I sincerely disbelieve that digital is stronger than physical. Physical has so many more benefits than digital and a ton of gamers enjoy having a collection to display, particularly JRPG fans. |

I dunno what you're worried about either. The PS3 is at the end of its life cycle. The next Tales game (after Zestiria), the next Persona game, the next Final Fantasy, etc. are all going to be on PS4. All Jrpgs are going to move to the PS4 eventually, and I think the jrpg market in the US is doing fine. In fact, with all the final fantasy announcements in the past few months, I think the jrpg market will better than ever. Also, physical isn't going to go away anytime soon, especially in Japan. After all, with digital, there's no way to do a collector's or special edition. |

In North America, it's 25% by the start of 2015, while expected to be 50% by 2018. Digital vs physical unit sales of console games in North America |

Keep in mind 2 things about this: 1) These are sales estimates, and estimates are often inaccurate, more so the further out it's predicting. 2018 is still 3-4 years out, so you can only put so much faith in those numbers. 2) Even if the predictions are spot-on, then 50% of console game sales will still be physical copies. Until that 50/50 split is reached, it's still accurate to say that most console game sales will be physical. Will digital sales eventually outpace physical? Quite possibly in the not too distant future, but that still doesn't mean they're not worth doing for niche titles like this. A good number of fans of IFI and NISA games are collectors, meaning they will tend to prefer physical over digital releases regardless of the current majority trends. |

I'm not a fan of digital games, and is one of the main reason I don't pick up a lot of American games these days. I miss when I could go down to the store and buy a nice box of Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion. Nowadays it's all done through third-party bloatware like Steam, Origin, and UPlay, and all the other programs you have to manage your games on. I generally have an internet connection, but the 'always on' thing can be annoying in those spurts my internet decides to die for an hour randomly, plus it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth when a single-player game requires you to be online to begin with.
If the American market eventually prefers digital, and perhaps it will given how successful Hulu and Netflix have been with movies, then so be it. But as a collector I prefer physical editions that I'll always have even if my computer crashes, my account gets randomly deleted/banned, or the service shuts down eventually. -Stuart Smith |

Of course. Still, estimates are based on past facts, so it's not pulled out of the blue.
The crux was how small is the digital market in console gaming.
Still, as less of a type of media is manufactured, makes it harder to find and more expensive to produce. |
