I swear, everytime I'm gone for more than...8 hours, some strange new thread pops up. Oh well, I'll play.

Name: Let's stick with "frentymon".

Sex: Male

Location: Currently in Shanghai suffering as the heat gets exponentially worse every day (man, it was 27C the day before yesterday too, now it's ~36, bound to get even worse...)

Marital Status: single

Age: 16

Religion: Atheist

Drink/Smoke: The former recently only because in China no one cares about drinking age.

Likes: Anime, bishoujo games, manga, J-pop, seiyuu, Japanese cartoons, light novels, anything else that wasn't obvious enough already. Also, chess, music, useless organizational stuff like that Discussions Thread, looking at scenary.

Dislikes: Cynical people, heat, crowded trains.

Favorite anime: Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Mai-HiME, Twelve Kingdoms, Zettai Shounen, Honey and Clover, Scrapped Princess.

Favorite Manga: Battle Royale, Bokurano, 20th Century Boys.

Favorite game: Starcraft, Pokemon series, Chrono Trigger.

Favorite Drink: Melon Soda.

Favorite Foods: Rice?

Favorite Sport: Tennis, badminton.

Favorite Music: Jazz, classical, J-pop (Halko, KOTOKO, Mami Kawada, Yui Horie, Yukari Tamura, Ayumi Hamasaki, Mikuni Shimokawa, Minami Kuribayashi, Yoko Takahashi, other people), rock, techno.

Fun facts: I actually find all the mundane forum-searching chart-making stuff I sometimes do here entertaining. Oh and I just watched Akagi and I agree that it's a manly-man anime for manly-men.

Well, with the "Introductions/Welcome" thread meeting its demise, guess it's time to do it again...

Name: Jeff

Gender:

Blood type: O-

Location: Fairfax County, VA, for the time being anyways.

Age: 29.

Marital Status: Single.

Ethnicity: British, Irish, Scottish, Swedish, Welsh.

Religion: Lapsed Roman Catholic.

Drink/smoke: Have not smoked, nor do I ever plan on doing so. I drink only on occasion (to be social, birthday, New Year's).

Favorite music: Soft rock and oldies. However, I'm not picky, and listen to whatever others put on.

Favorite sports to watch: College sports, far and away, especially JMU football and college basketball. That, and MLB; With DC finally having a team of its own, I developed a surprisingly quick interest in the sport.

Favorite sport to play: Basketball.

Favorite games: SNES: Illusion of Gaia, Earthbound, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, Link to the Past; GB/GBC/GBA: the Dragon Warrior franchise, Link's Awakening, Oracle of Ages/Seasons (both of which remain unfinished Anime smile + sweatdrop).

Favorite anime: Azumanga Daioh, Berserk, Boogiepop Phantom, Cowboy Bebop, Elfen Lied, Haibane Renmei, Key the Metal Idol, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Now and Then, Here and There, Texhnolyze.

Favorite manga: Boogiepop, Excel Saga, and Hellsing to a large degree. Also, Cromartie High School and Neon Genesis Evangelion to a smaller degree.

Other animated interests: The Simpsons (for nostalgia's sake), The Venture Bros., Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Space Ghost: Coast 2 Coast, The Critic.

Other non-animated interests: Stephen King's The Dark Tower series, history, geology, writing, and currency collecting (mostly bills, but some coins as well), as well as stuff pertaining to transportation.

Likes: Cool, cloudy days (no idea why); long drives in the (sadly decreasing) countryside; extra time; a good number of my interests noted above.

Dislikes: Indecisive people who still haven't made up their mind while they've been standing in line for five minutes; drivers who lack any kind of etiquette/courtesy; UPS; people who refuse to accept the virtues of hard work; state and federal legislatures that don't have the political onions to admit higher taxes are necessary to maintain a crumbling infrastructure.

Favorite food: Chinese food, pizza, occasionally Fuddrucker's.

Favorite drink: Jack and Coke.

Favorite non-alcoholic drink: Coca-Cola.

Education/employment: Got my associate's in foodservice management doing part-time classes while working full-time. After that, applied and was accepted to James Madison University to pick up my bachelor's in the same field. Currently employed (during summers and breaks) by a family restaurant chain that does the majority of its business in the northeast.

Favorite websites: ANN, CAA Zone (for discussion of JMU athletics)

Favorite quotes:
"If you're going to do something, do it right, or don't do it at all."

Fun facts about NGE1113:
Was quite the band geek back in high school. Converted from the trumpet to the euphonium, and made it onto three consecutive All-District Bands during high school.

Some marching band bloopers:
During a performance, I lost a shoe on the field. The result: two of the trombones playing behind me nearly went down after walking on it.

At one of the higher rated competitions, I somehow managed to wedge my shoe into one of triangular-shaped yard markers, and dragged it for ten to twenty feet.

From what others have told me, I've made it onto TV (CBS, Comcast Sports Net) twice in my life. The first occurred at a Georgetown basketball game in the 80's at the Capital Centre, back when the feed from nationally televised games was also used as the in-house CCTV feed. My father looked up at the center court TV screen, and saw me on camera as the camera crew faded in from a media timeout.

The other occurred in the winter of 2009, when JMU hosted George Mason. Following the victory, there was a rush at center court (first win in the last ten tries over our rival), but I got out there late. With no one else around me, I was easily visible on the camera pointed towards the huddle of students. I later learned from one of my roommates that his parents had seen me on TV. He saw it as well; for some reason, highlights from the game were broadcasted at Verizon Center during a Washington Capitals game that he attended.

Pictures: Sorry, not at this time.

EDITS:
Added a few things, rearranged and reordered some other things.

Oh, why not? Most of what I'm saying here is already available in my Staff Profile or the one done in Protoculture Addicts #90 (which also includes a slightly out-of-date photo) anyway.

Name: Theron (yes, really)
Sex: Male
Location: Indianapolis, IN (and, unlike Mylene, I wouldn't willingly live elsewhere).
Marital Status: Single and looking.
Age: 35
Religion: Non- now, originally Methodist.
Drink/Smoke: Never have and unlikely to ever start.
Likes (beyond anime/manga): American comic books, history, RPGs (especially Dungeons and Dragons), card and board games, fantasy football, big roller coasters, constantly peppy people.
Dislikes: Teenagers who insist "I'm grown" when when they still act quite immature, people who look at everything from a political viewpoint, country and gospel music.
Favorite anime: Key the Metal Idol (naturally!), Scrapped Princess, Twelve Kingdoms, Princess Mononoke, Fruits Basket, NGE.
Favorite Manga: Battle Angel Alita
Favorite (computer) game: Minesweeper, just about any incarnation of Civilization
Favorite Food: Pepperoni and sausage pizza from a small N. Indiana chain called Volcano's.
Favorite Book: Recently, The Twelve Kingdoms (yes, the novel that was the source for the anime) by Fuyumi Ono; all-time, Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Mariller and the works of Jane Auel (Clan of the Cave Bear, etc.) and Douglas Adams.
Favorite Sport: Pro football
Favorite Music: Primarily metal, '80s pop/rock, and anime soundtracks (especially Yuki Kajiura's work), but I can name favorites in just about any genre other than gospel. My current top pick is the soundtrack to Le Portrait de Petite Cossette.
Fun facts about Key:
- I am one generation removed from the farm on both sides of my family but did grow up in an area where some people, to this day, still use a horse and buggy for transportation.
- I teach high school Math (although that may soon be changing) and have often done it in classrooms where I was the only white person in the room.
- I have been writing adventures for the RPGA (Role Playing Gamers Association) since the early '90s and have had other D&D-related publications.
- I am allergic to chocolate.
- EDIT: In reference to NGE1113's post, I was also a dedicated "band geek" in HS. I was a mallet specialist, so I did pit percussion (those fancy sideline set-ups in field performances) or bass drum on the drum line as needed during marching band season. We did three major nationally-televised parades during my time, and my best blooper was falling over the front corner of a car parked on the edge of our practice field while backing up at full speed while wearing a bass drum. (I needed help to get back on my feet.)

Name: Ben is my nickname in RL, however my real name is not really that closely related to it. The only person on ANN who knows my real name is Steven, or Mr. theeunuch, owner of ann, to you, but I've made him swear he won't tell or else I'll swim to Australia and feed him to a crocodile. (BTW Happy Birthday, Steven, sounds like you had a rocky one, hope it gets better from here.)

Sex: Male

Location: West Texas, in a tiny little nowhere town that was, or is claimed to be, the site of the real first thanksgiving.

Marital Status: Single and currently not looking.

Age: 30... ish.

Religion: Christian/Babtist, and that's all I'm saying on this subject.

Drink/Smoke: Recovering alcoholic. I've had 3 noteworthy benders in the past year and a half but otherwise dry. I've smoked since I was 11 years old and it's not as violent a habit to break as drinking but it is harder somehow, but I am finally working towards it. Not so much for my health but it is getting to be one of my more expensive habits.

Likes: Spare time. It is my favorite thing in the world. Every year I look to see how I can manage to make more for myself. Whether it is multi-tasking at work or when I'm out running errands to get more things done at once or making strict "to do" lists for when I have a busy schedule, I will do almost anything to earn even one more free hour a week to do with as I please. *Edit: Oh and sex is nice too, really close second, although I suppose it was at #1 at some point in my life, maybe when I was in my twenties.

Dislikes: I dislike quite a few things but dishonesty is probably at the top. I mean I don't care about little white lies or some internet bragging, that's just expected, but I mean when someone I know does something dishonest that can potentially be hurtful in some way to someone, that really bothers me.

Favorite anime: Look here. And for once the list is updated and current.

Favorite Manga: Ranma 1/2, Gunslinger Girl, Fruits Basket, Ai Yori Aoshi, Hajime no Ippo, XXXholic, and a few others. I don't read a lot of manga so almost anything I read I guess you could call a favorite.

Favorite game: Hmm... Tough one, I haven't really been into gaming for a very long time. The last system I bought was an original X-box when that first came out and I think I played all of 4 games on it and used it a grand total of about a dozen times. Before that I did like the Zelda games from Nintendo though, so I guess you could call those my favorites.

Favorite Drink: Beer! I can't drink it, but it is still the best tasting stuff I have ever or will ever have. Some [bad] fathers give a small sip to children so they can know that it tastes awful and stay away from the stuff, my dad likes to tell the story of me tipping a can my first time at the age of 5 in such an experiment and me trying to chug it before it was forcefully taken away after a struggle. I love beer. Of course I haven't been drinking since the age of 5, just since middle school, but that is where my alcohol tale probably begins. I also love tequila, I love the flavor of it, I used to like to leave a shot in my mouth and swish it around a few times before swallowing because it tasted so delicious.

A close second favorite would be coffee, no fancy cappuccino, espresso, or latte, just plain black with no sugar or cream to take away from the flavor. However I've had ulcers since the age of 17 and just stopped drinking 5 years ago, coffee doesn't do me much better. Funny that I hate tea, no matter how it is made it just tastes awful to me, and to substitute both drinking beer and coffee I now drink Iced tea when out and about, and brewed hot tea in the mornings. This world is just bent on making my life not fun.

Favorite Foods: New England Clam Chowder (when it is made well), raw oysters on the half shell (when they are fresh), pizza (see my posts in the "anime is better than sex" topic), and sandwiches. I love sandwiches, just so many possibilities of meats, veggies, cheeses, other fillings and condiments and breads, simply delicious!

Favorite Book: I have so many here, maybe I'll go with favorite author instead. I love the works of John Steinbeck, just the raw emotions and characters that he builds are simply wonderful and sometimes terrible to read. I get lost in nearly all his works but my favorite of all would probably be East of Eden, there is just so much to this story, so much was put in and it still leaves room for a world of possibilities in how he shows how a cycle once started is not easily stopped. And probably the best part of all: timshel! I've read it at least half a dozen times and each time I still get drawn in. Just horrible and beautiful all at once.

Favorite Movie: Another one that is hard for me to really answer in just a few words, I love movies, but my favorite film of all time is an old Oliver Stone film titled Wall Street. I own that on Beta, VHS, and DVD. Somehow the storytelling and the way you just see the characters get lost in this world, like if it was a completely fictional one, instead of an imitation of life, it is just powerful. It also helps that I think Michael Douglas, pre-Traffic, was the best actor alive and used to watch any and every movie he made.

Favorite Sport: American football. Well watching it anyway, it's been some time since I actually played any sports or involved myself in any athletic activity unless you count that I walk my dog everyday. I like the NFL mostly, and my favorite team are the Dallas Cowboys, but I also follow a few college teams, Notre Dame and UCLA mostly.

Favorite Music: . Hmm, in this order: Rock, Blues, Classical, Metal, Jazz, Country, and some rap and random other styles. I like some R&B but it is not really my thing. A few of my favorite artists are the Beatles, Billy Joel, Stevie Ray Vaughan, B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Mozart, Bach, Metallica, The White Stripes, Cypress Hill, Eminem, Shania Twain, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Cake, Sinatra, Blues Traveler, Bon Jovi, Brad Paisley, Poison, Sublime, Weezer, and many many more.

Fun facts about ben:
- I have written a number of short stories, and have co-created and co-written a few short films, some of them based on those same short stories. I have co-written a couple of screenplays for full length features, though neither has seen light yet. One that I was supposed to help write, based on an original idea I had, is now in pre-production and may come out in a couple of years.

- I also love live theatre and have spent time as actor, director, technical director, set design, and any number of other positions in different theatres since highschool, although I haven't done anything in this area in 6 years.

- I once managed a sort of gourmet Mexican food restaurant, the owner was a chef who had previously specialized in French food but adapted his style to his homeland food, most of it was really delicious.

- I also worked as a supervisor in a Casino at one point in my life managing a department that counted money, seriously all they did was count money, lots of it, all day.

- I was an English major in college and not only have my skills in this area severely diminished over the years but I have never once used them in any of my jobs.

Fun facts about "undeadben":

- undeadben is a username I came up with when I was in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer online fandom. Although I was only a lurker back then I used the name to sign up to sites that only allowed access to registered users. My favorite haunts were sites supporting a Buffy/Spike relationship as I have and forever will be a Spuffy fan and have since then always kept the same username anywhere I join since it is always available.

- as undeadben my most notable online time (aside from here) was spent in the Harry Potter fandom, something I am now just getting back into. I started while awaiting the release of book 5 and I used to love reading about all the different theories about what was coming up. I have come up with quite a few of my own and have written essays online at different places on topics such as a potential Hermione/Harry relationship, "Ginny is evil" theories, Dumbledore, Book 6, and a few lesser posts and theories on the Marauders, Horcruxes, Dumbledore is dead, and Harry Potter's chances of survival.

Pictures: Still only this one
I've emailed some friends to see if they can send me some of my more recent ones, If they reply I'll post a different one.

**edit** A few people have come through with some pics so I'll add them now. A couple of them were a bit too bizarre and a few had me pointing a middle finger at the camera so I've left those out.

I can't believe my own sister only has pictures of me at her wedding but still she sent me a shot, actually she sent me a shot with her in the center in her wedding gown but I've cropped her out: Me in the formal wear again

I don't know where this next one was taken but apparently it is a fairly recent shot: Extreme bushiness.

Here I'd just woken up at a friend's house and was headed to clean myself up when she snapped this shot: Just woken, not a pretty site.

Here is me in an unfamiliar environment, out in the Sun, well trying to stand in the shade it seems, and my hair's all wet for some reason, I think I'd just gotten out of the shower: Probably hadn't slept well in a few days either

And here I am at work, I think someone had snapped this one when I was just turning around, I usually try to keep my messy hair behind me: At work, so not happy. Actually I got a whole series of pictures of me at work but I think I've already posted enough of me.

Still not bored? I'm sure you are but just in case you really want to continue reading my boring drivel about my interests check out this post in an older similarly fun thread.

Edited a number of times now for a number of reasons.

It's not so much Indy as it is that I'm a country girl...I hate living in cities. Except for the whole broadband internet thing, I do rather like that feature. Gimme a smaller town like Lafayette, IN any day (since I can't have my country and my broadband at the same time). Smaller, less crime (I've only lived here a year and already had my home burglarized) and just an hour jaunt to the draws of the "big city." Plus there were better sources of anime up there.

Location: Raleigh, NC (hometown: Asheville, NC)
Marital Status: Single
Religion: N/A

Favorite Manga: Link
Favorite Games: The Ace Attorney series, the Pokémon series, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Favorite Non-Anime: Artemis Fowl (series)--yes, I know it's a "children's book," but it's the best read ever. Some other books include Colors of the Mountain, Frankenstein, The Count of Monte Cristo, Watership Down, and The Alchemist. I also like The Lord of the Rings (movie series).

Education: Freshman, NC State University, College of Design; Major: Graphic Design.
Likes: Sarcasm.
Dislikes: A lot, surprisingly.
Hobbies: I don't know myself well enough, obviously. I can add collecting bookmarks for now.
Fun Facts: Meh, "Aromatic Grass" is NOT the username I would prefer to use ever! Just call me Ko-chan. (That's not really a fun fact, is it?)

Picture. Because I finally have one.
My newest photo.

Favorite Foods: Sweets, and Korean food. Mm mm spicy.

Favorite Sport: Definitely football (go Seahawks), then basketball, I'm a huge football freak and watch as many games as I can every Sunday.

Favorite Books: Too many, I'm a big fantasy nerd so George RR Martin, David Eddings, Terry Brooks, etc. I'm a huge Stephen King fan, but my all time favorite book would still have to be the Count of Monte Cristo.

Fun facts about me:
-For part of my childhood I grew up in Germany.
-I was a vegetarian for six years.
-I just graduated from the University of Washington.
-Tomboyish, very low maintenance, absolutely hate make up I refuse to wear any.
-I pretty much a big geek: I love Star Wars, Star Trek, Anime/Manga, Video Games, reading fantasy/sci fi novels. Haha. But I'm a girl so most people don't expect it.

What more do you need to know? I can't think of anything, it's hard to talk about yourself.

Location: Tucson, Arizona
Marital Status: Single, never been on a date in my life.

Likes: Computers, The Internet, Music (I like soundtracks, Contemporary Christian and J-pop mostly), Movies, Reading, Writing, Art, Travel, Foreign Languages, American Football, Basketball, Redemption TCG

Favorite anime: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Berserk, The Twelve Kingdoms, Ergo Proxy, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind make up my top 5 in that order but this could change at any given time. I'm still relatively new when it comes to my otakudom.
Favorite game: I don't play video games, well I used to but I got tired of them.
Fun facts about Matt: Works for a multi-billion dollar US corporation (Intuit, if you've heard of them), likes people with a good sense of humor. Currently pursuing a degree in IT from none other than ITT Technical Institute. Was home schooled from 2nd grade until he graduated high school. Is a military brat, so he has been all over the world to some degree. Loves to spend money (although perhaps too much). Is somewhat of a musician. He has played piano for a number of years (and it quite talented at it) and has also played both Alto and Bass Clarinet. Is a moderator on the official forum for a non-anime Cartoon Network show, even though he's lost pretty much all interest in the show itself.

I disliked Fantastic Four SS too.

I thought it was pretty good, once you get past how cheesy it is. Definitely better than the first one, but still well short of a masterpiece.

Marital Status: Single
Age: 15

Fun Facts: I'm on pace to be valedictorian of my class at school. Love playing lacrosse. "Munna" is used as nickname for children in northern India (where my family is originally from), and it means "little boy". Turns out I'm not so little though; I'm 6'1". I'm a huge clown, and goofy most of the time (not on ANN though), and I enjoy making people laugh. I love American football, and I love going to NY Jets games (I'm a season ticket holder).

Pictures: When I get a few on this computer, I'll post 'em.

That's all I can think of right now. If I come up with more stuff, I'll make sure to post it.
