The current Doraemon series has been running in Japan since 1979. |

I wonder if Mr. Depp is a closet anime fan. He certainly seems the type. Got to love a man who picks a script because it's based on a theme park ride.
Very cool news. Maybe this will get some of his regular fans to turn otaku. *Edited because I forgot a word.

It didn't occur to me that he may have to speak Japanese, or maybe he'll get to speak english and they'll just subtitle it. I don't know what Doraemon is, but I have an impression that it's for children, and that reading subtitles would be annoying for children. Either way, it's totally awesome that a famous Hollywood star would be guest voice actor in an anime series. I hope it's one step closer for anime to reach "Holllywood" status. |

Did anyone see the the video with Deep in Japan? A bunch of little kids started singing and dancing for him in pirate outfits. It was cute.
