I'm not entirely sure on this one. There's some problem with the pacing although I do like the way that they adapt the action, soundtrack, and some characters.
Need to wait to see more episodes still.

It wasn't the Zchted prince it was some random Evil Lord Duke Guy who invaded Alace. The overarching plot atm is that Brunish nobility is working against the crown now that the prince is dead (I still think the prince is a girl and coming back as part of the harem). I can't blame you for getting that wrong though he's not that memorable to begin with

Pretty fun show. Apparently it's actually adapting the stuff from the light novel at a decent pace, but still giving it time to breath.

I don't usually like too much fanservice but this sounds like it could actually be pretty good. I might give it a try sometime.

I passed this one over because it looked like a generic fantasy series with fanservice, but I have a weakness for Spice and Wolf-esque character writing so I may have to actually try it out now.

My interest level was going up until I saw Maoyu mentioned. The two leads in that show were the worst characters I have had the displeasure to watch in a while. If these two are like that, I may have to pass.

Well, the excessive panty shots or excessive jiggling boobs are what it does lack. It's actually fairly tame by fan service standards (which I don't like). I actually wish there was more fan service.

You are either just wishing at the bottom of your heart that a pretty random, named and established gender, presumably dead character (this is what we know of the prince from the anime) character is in fact not what he appears to be, or you have just read the novels and wants to look cool that you guessed it right when it is revealed later down the line. I’ll take my own guess that it is the latter. There is really no harm in saying you read the novels, I have as well.

The only real bits they skipped so far are things that happen during his imprisonment. A “big” thing, but not that important, about Lim and more Tigre and Elen stuff are the notable skips.
For those wanting fan service, all I can say is that there are elements from the novels that contain them but it depends on how serious the adaption wants to be if they include them or not.

I did not read the novels, I literally just saw the 1 second the prince was on screen, mistook him for a girl and threw that out there. I'm just repeating it because it's funny, thanks for basically confirming that for me though
EDIT: I might as well just go down my reasoning for that crack theory. Prince was on screen for a couple seconds, at first I mistook him for a girl until they explicitly referred to the character as a prince. Then I realized this is a fanservice series so if he looked like a woman he probably is one. As a female character in a place of suppose narrative importance there is no way she would actually be dead and since it's a fanservice series if she's alive she would return as a part of the harem in some way. Basically I didn't expect enough from the writing for them NOT to do it.

While it's still too early for Funi to start doing casting calls, I find that my fave female (the lead, obviously) could be done justice with Cherami Leigh (since Haruka Tomatsu is the voice of Elen and also was Asuna) or Alexis Tipton (experienced with fan service-friendly females).

Zion was the son of a Brunish duke. I think he was the one that made disobedient citizens fight each other to the death. He was plotting for the throne after the prince was killed in the first battle. Zion was talking to Tigre before the battle in the first episode, or rather sneering at his choice of weapon. So Elen is not betraying her kingdom but Tigre, though the betrayed him first so they can't fairly hold it against him

If you're going to review a show, you should probably get the basic facts straight before doing so. There are too many factual errors in this review for me to even address. I'm talking about very basic elements of the plot.
Ugh, ANN, why can't you get anime fans to do reviews and stuff? It would be better than this sort of thing.

You can't blame her for making a few mistakes. I haven't watched it yet but if it's half as complicated as it sounds, it wouldn't be hard to make a few mistakes. Besides, how does making a few factual mistakes mean someone isn't an anime fan?
