Laughing: Because it's a tie-in to an upcoming movie that'll be seen by a lot of people?

Hunh...I never read the comics, but from panels I've seen, it and the film seem relatively different. Assuming that the film wont be following the original comic that closely...I guess this will work for fans of the film who don't care for the source material? Still a bit different; original American comic --> (loosely adapted?) film --> manga based on film.

More surprising: Disney Japan actually shortened this one's title.

I'm guessing they'll be heavily marketing Baymax. He has a cute factor, I suppose.

Why? Probably because of current US publishers, Yen Press has the existing relationship with Disney. They also publish the Kingdom Hearts manga.

Ah I see, I didn't know Yen Press is the one handling the US right to the Kingdom heart manga. Thanks for telling me that.

How exciting! Yen's handling of the Kingdom Hearts manga is one of my favorite translations because the translators clearly know their way around Disney and match the characters voices perfectly. Here's hoping they do just as good a job with Big Hero!

Looking forward to reading the manga tie in and once again, Baymax is just so adorable that I just want to give him one big hug because look at him! Who doesn't want to hug him?

I think this is a great idea, since it can help get people in the general population exposed to manga. Just like with Yen Press's manga adaptions of popular YA book series.

In fact, the Japanese title of the Disney movie is "Baymax", so I suspect there'll be a bit of emphasis.

...That's what I was referring to when I said Disney Japan shortened the title. Usually, their releases see them elongated.
