Maybe people are just attached to the name Ghibli, but... one thing will never change. These people in the production department are into this as part of their living. They may bring the crew back together another day, or they'll go their separate ways, but they'll take everything they learned with them. And wherever they go, they'll bring a little Ghibli with them. Or a lot. I guess it depends on who exactly it is.
I have a feeling we'll still see their names around. Regardless, I look forward to the next Ghibli-inspired project.

I'm not going to lie I cried and laugh watching the video. Really touching.

Good animation filtered through tumblr- aping hacks just makes me appreciate Ghibli's animation even more.

"And that weird one where raccoons have balls"
Okay, I lost it at that! I also give it props for including Whisper of the Heart, which is my favorite Ghibli movie, but seems to get forgotten a lot.

It's nice that it wasn't lowbrow for once. Though apparently they don't get that most tanuki have special balls. [Well, except for Mario's costume in that third game, for some reason-even in the Japanese version. ]

That's my favorite as well. I didn't catch the reference though, I'll watch it again later.

I'll third this, I absolutely LOVE Whisper of the Heart. It's disappointing that it seems to be one of the lesser known Ghibli films, and I really wish it's director had gotten to do more.
This was actually a pretty heartwarming tribute that I never would have expected from a block like ADHD, so good on them.

While I don't watch ADHD, I will admit I felt a moment. Well Ghibli isn't gone, but it's Miyazaki and other old schoolers that brought forth the magic. Even films that some wouldn't considering his best are still at the top of the animation tower. So now we got some of the new blood cutting their teeth, but yet the man is still lurking while retired. But again, we've all pretty much grown up watching the first studio films to now and it's the older films that have that much of a hold on us. The question is will any of the newer films be able to do that?
