Quote: | Amazon Japan is also listing a Blu-ray Disc box set for the first season of Seitokai Yakuindomo*. |
Seitokai Yakuindomo* is actually the second season. Seitokai Yakuindomo is the first season.

Doubt we'd ever get a physical media release in the West, but it'd be nice if someone picked up the first season for streaming. It's a really funny show (raunchy as hell, though… I don't think that comes through in the article).

The second season, I seem to recall, even more so than the first.

Sheesh, that boxset pricing is outrageous! If I do watch the series, it'd be mainly since the MC is voiced by the Japanese seiyuu as Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's Crow whose is a close friend of Yusei whose Deck build is my preferred Yu-Gi-Oh TCG build).

This should probably be licensed in the West. I really don't get how some shows slip under the radar like this one has.

It's a fair point, Some shows like this one are a lot more likely to sell in comparison to other stuff licensed and sold in the west, im not saying other stuff are bad and this is great but some stuff are a bit "meh" (and some stuff do suck), there are a fair amount of good ones brought over of course but shows like this i would of thought should have been on sale... but not even licensed...
it's rather odd to me. Granted peoples taste vary but i think it goes without saying this sort of humour usually scores quite well when talking about all the people.

I'd say that the basic reasons are because of licensing issues and having a sufficient fan base that warrants a company to license it. This also can be applied to so many other series.

^and funds.
I hate adding the money part but even if a show could profit there is still the issue if it is going to cost in the first place they might think twice.
Some series are real expensive to acquire, and they might make money back + good profits but the if they don't can be too costly.

I would say that less of an issue, way too many anime get picked up that sell poorly even in Japan and then in the US, with small fan bases at most. SY as a harem at least has some fan base built in for genre. But like the other guy said tis probably licensing.
I am still waiting for someone to pick up STB, but then again SY has a chance if Oda Nobuna just got picked up by Sentai the other day.
