He should look just like that sketch and they should name him Altaïr and have him wear a white-hooded cloak at all times.

As long as he isn't a terrorist, I'm cool with it.

1. Ditch the stupid Assassin's Creed cloak.
2. Consult actual history books about the Middle East.
3. Read Middle Eastern fashion magazines.
4. Read a little about Middle Eastern Culture.
It's not that hard, you guys

Looks culturally sensitive. So I agrove this new Assasins Creed character.
If they gave him long hair and made him shorter he would look just like me but bishonen.
What that game need though are better american voiceovers. That trailer was 90s ova dub streetrash bad.

I love how the FGC Podcast: Super Desperation Radio covered this yesterday, Giby being prominent figure in the community and of Middle Eastern heritage had the perfect suggestions for Harada.

So Tekken 7 will have Altair from Assassin's Creed in the game.

They spent time in Middle-Eastern countries talking to people and observing the culture and the first thing they come up with is still emulates the most popular Assassin's Creed character? Admittedly it is a popular design, but I would prefer something closer to Prince of Persia rather than Assassin's Creed.
I like that he has color, but why red, white, and blue? They should have done better than that. At least they are asking the audience first.
I hope they stay away from heavy stereotypes though. Don't need more of that in fighting games.

There's other criterias I don't want to see in this new character:
-if the character doesn't resemble Osama Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein, Bashar Al-Assad, Moammar Gadaffi, Yassir Arafat, or Hosni Mubarak
-He does not yell "Allah Ackbar" as a victorious chant or as a war cry in the game.

The head covering has to go, a very outdated stereotype, also no backstory suggesting terrorism. I would avoid all references to Islam if possible, not all arabs are Muslim, many are Christians.

Yeah I share this same thought too, remember what happened to I forgot the name of the Xbox game, it got a lot of controversy for using muslim chant, I think they didn't release it at all.

Avoiding ALL references to Islam might be a bit harsh. Especially for the Muslims who actually enjoy playing video games. Human sensitivity doesn't come from ignoring everything about a given group of people, it comes from finding the stuff that's neat and nudging a bit to the forefront.
Frankly, I think that if they are going for a Middle Eastern character, make them a woman.
No burqa, no chadoor, no hijab, just an honest-to-goodness ass-kicker who doesn't need to dress up like a swimsuit model and has a cool attitude. THAT would be a real break from both Middle Eastern, female, and Middle Eastern female stereotypes!
But hey, maybe that's too far a step in the right direction. ;

The design is pretty cool but he doesn't look like Middle Easterner at all. Also like you all people had said: he looks like a character from Assassin's Creed. Do they even research before creating this character?

They shouldn't rip-off Assassin's Creed.
If Namco wants a kick-ass Middle Eastern character for Tekken 7, they should just license the likeness of the most awesome Middle Easterner in all of history, Iranian-born Hossein Khosrow Ali Vaziri, better known as "The Iron Sheik".
