Nothing for me, but I am glad to finally see Tari Tari on BD. I bought the DVD release of it, and I will probably stick with it because the video looks good enough for me.

I'm interested in seeing what that HSotD collector's edition is all about. The series was pretty good (despite the enraging non-ending), but the OVA was a joke (12 minutes of actual new material? No zombies? No action? I mean, c'mon) and I have no idea what more it could possibly contain to justify that SRP.

*sees Log Horizon*

Okay, change of thought. Will be tempted to snatch the series up whenever the second set comes out. Otherwise, still the first month in a while where nothing from Sentai sways me to pre-order from them.

didn't they announce stella on DVD?
now they are changing it to blu-ray, ugh...

that's a good thing but this wishy washy behavior is not good and we end up with screwed up releases like chunibyo

A few of these, I already seen on DVD prior or will be owning (Natsuyuki, Stella, Tari Tari) and the rest (with exception to Log Horizon when the second half comes out) don't really have my interest. I was never really into the hype surrounding High School of the Dead since my peek at the first episode a while back has me assuming it's nothing more than a title relishing in its gory violence and fan service.

Anyone else think that the HOTD collector's edition set is way too high?

Even with RightStuf's discount, it'll run you 90 bucks. And for a four year old show with a couple of cheap paper chachkies tossed into an art box and digipak and lacking any new bonus features besides the OVA, it kinda feels like a rip-off. It seems like Sentai is breaking the first rule of combo packs, which is to NEVER charge full price for both the DVD and the bluray at the same time (most companies just charge for the bluray and the pack-ins and throw in the DVDs as a bonus).

Maybe if they lower it down to $60 or $70 I'll bite. But it just really doesn't seem like a very good value to me. And it's a shame too, because I recently gave away my DVD set to a friend and was hoping to replace it with the collector's set. Confused

I guess it really all depends on just how "special" the special book is. If it's a hard-bound 100+ page beast of an art book that'll be one thing. But knowing Sentai it'll more than likely just be a 20 page booklet with a bunch of artwork that you can look at for free on the internet. Rolling Eyes

Well, I don't think it's worth it....but that's just because I already own the show on DVD, and don't need another copy, since I like mine.
