Only two people want to talk about models? I live for PlaMo - my girlfriend actually kicked me this week when she found out I had ordered the new Uchikoma kit when I have 6 other kits sitting in their boxes waiting to be assembled. Shout if you're looking for someone to try out new kits and report back - I'd love another excuse to cut and paint instead of eating and going to work.

Well.. if there are only two people interested in painting models, it might not be enough to do a whole article on.
People who take great care in their model's progress take quite some time to build them.. haha  So even updates would be difficult since the progress of the piece might not have a significant change between two issues of Super Plastic!
Castlevania: after 20+ years they finally make action figures for them? Is there a new game that's coming out that this'll help promote? Unless the target is the older gamer fan. It looks awesome though!
Mario Statue: I don't know why, but it reminds me of something you'd find outside of a toy store O.o Pirates of the Caribbean: Wow!! what happened to Elizabeth Swann? O.o Sao Feng looks really cute!!! Transformers: talk about your decked out transformers O.o Ahahaha a crumpled up helicopter on his butt that's hilarious. I agree that reissues make collectors sad... but it's what happens and I hope every collector knows that O.o That's a great way to live Buy what you like.
For some reason, Suikoden figures almost make me think of Pokemon.. with all their different creatures  But that sounds like a great idea! I wonder if suikoden is popular enough.

There's a fairly major Castlevania release due out in September for the PSP, actually.
It's "Dracula X Chronicles," a port of Symphony of the Night (10th anniversary edition) and the PC Engine CD game Rondo of Blood, as well as a remixed version of Rondo. Actually, technically, the selling point is the remixed Rondo, but there's just something very exciting about SOTN that I can take to work with me. NECA does a lot of stuff just for the hell of it-- they recently released Labyrinth's Jareth (David Bowie), they've cranked out reissues of Tron figures, sometimes they just grab a license, new media or no, and run with it. This license was a bit of a surprise, I figured we'd see something out of Japan first. Then again, McFarlane Toys gave us the first really good Metal Gear Solid line, so who knows anymore. |

I agree that two people is hardly enough of an audience for an article, but I can dream... There are a number of sites that allow people to show off their model skills and track the progress over time with pictures and updates. What I thought would be an interesting addition is a little news about what new model kits are available or have been announced. For example, I had not heard anything about the new GitS:SAC Uchikoma model until I happened across it while buying paint for an incredibly sweet MSA-0011 transformable Gundam model kit I just got from my brother in Japan. I just hope I don't wear off all the paint playing with it once I'm done. |
