X-COM: UFO Defense is best game; took me a good decade on-and-off to finally beat it. And the screams! (Mostly mine.)

Whoa, I think you're jumping the gun a bit here, Todd. Those are cameo costumes, nothing more. That has nothing to do with the previous announcement.
...And I don't have a lot else to say about today's X Button really, other than the fact you spelled priestess with three s's. XD

You know, it's okay to not have played drakengard 1, no need to try and hide it behind unexplained criticism.

Yeah I don't care for Nier, but I don't think the actual Drakengard games were bad.
One is a pretty competent game. It's nothing great, but the gameplay is not horrible or anything. Just simple Dynasty Warrior's combat mixed with air combat that for the most part works. I don't think there is anything offensive about it.
Yes, the story is the best part. It is uniquely interesting with it's characters you don't see in other Japanese games. The story is as crazy as it's made out to be. You could of course just read or watch youtube videos about it, but it's better to actually play it yourself. Be surrounded by the obtuse music and strange level progression. You won't have played a game like it and games are meant to be experienced.
The 2nd one is a really good Dynasty Warrior's clone(of the day anyway). The combat is far faster and refined. It dosen't feel like a slog to move around the character like it does in the first one. Characters to feel mroe kinetic and responsive. It also has actual combos now.
The presentation is weaker and the story far more typical, but I had a lot of fun with two. It's still has some nice heartfelt story beats.
I don't know, both games are quite memorable. I don't think they are bad at all.

I ordered Drakengard 3 from the Square Enix site in order to get the voice DLC.
Since then, I had the audacity to move. It turns out that their site is completely incapable of handling a change in address, which is astounding. I contacted CS and their solution was to tell me to cancel and re-order. Absolutely ridiculous.
Fortunately, I'm not moving far and I should be able to just make a short drive and pick it up from the apartment complex, but it's absurd that this is an issue in 2014.

The drakengard series is the only series from square I had really don't like. I have played the first one because I was intrigue with the combat system. Man this game was dark, I was thinking maybe it will have a decent good ending type deal. I was disappointed to find that it got worse and worse as I have played through the game. It is one of the few games that I traded back to Gamestop because I was that disappointed in it.
