I've been to Japan a few times myself but I've never had the misfortune (or fortune) of coming across that many freakishly hellish masks like that O_O
Nice update, always fun to see pictures of this kind of stuff, though it does make me want to go back |

Especially one wearing great-aunt-Maude's costume-jewelry necklace. |

Totally overlooked that Mandarake in Tokyo. My favorite one is Nakano and Nagoya locations . Great pictures guys. I loved your reactions to those horrid masks 0_0.
Can't wait for the cafes I love animals and Nakano |

There were two guys in very nice 3 piece suits wearing that horse's head at the con this weekend. I'd not be surprised if there's a store here in Orlando that has all those same masks.

Lol, "Pucchou" is a very popular candy! Don't be mistaken, these aren't made by the SNK producers, it's the opposite. A popular candy slapped with Mikasa=profit! (The same way you'd see a Reese's with Mikasa on the wrapper). But Pucchou are delicious!

Dear lord, that Mickey and Disney cubic mouth thing, ugh. Nightmare fuel. D:
Anyone else picture the Titan saying "Don't touch me!" the way Miss Crabtree did in South Park? XD |

Thanks for using a high mega pixel camera. It is neat to be able to zoom in on your pictures, and see actual detail on the smaller stuff and items farther away.

gotta check out Shibuya's Mandarake next time I go there, Nakano's one was amazing.
I'm glad everyone finds those anime dvds expensive because I plan to buy more of them |

How many Magritte plates did you end up getting? If you wrap each plate in a couple of shopping bags really tightly and bury them separately in your clothes they should be fine. I have also made a ceramics-haul on a vacation and I don't regret it in the slightest!

After seeing this metastatic proliferation of plastic junk, I understand why the unusual manga "Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou" did well in Japan.

I would love to go to Japan one day. I would love to go on those "fan" tours. That duck muzzle is hilarious. You gotta love the caution on the titan mask. Seems it's never a dull day in Japan. But then again I'm out looking in. I hope that one day I make it to the crazy town of happy.

Poor Botan and Hiei. Damn those dolls must be the oldest things there. Or maybe not...

I think that there was a Mandarake store for every letter of the alphabet in Nakano Broadway - fortunately one of the helpful staff gave me a map showing which stores selling what were where. |
