the regretfully unlicensed karuta anime Chihayafuru

It's licenced in Australia. I saw part 1 and 2 DVDs at Wai-con and the local DVD store. Sub, no dub.

I don't have a preference, older or newer VAs. There are some really awesome people in both group. I like anime to have both! Smile

For the new poll I selected a mix.
I definitely do like to listen to my favorites, but I also want to give new voices a chance.
Even the old favorites were new at one time.

I prefer veteran VAs. There's a plenty of really great voice actors of 80-90 era. Though I like when main character role is given to someone who is either moe or less new or don't usually have an MC roles.

As for my favorites: Kosugi Juurota (Oda Nobunaga in Sengoku Musou series, Akio Ohtori in Utena, Jotaro Kujo in JoJo OVAs)

Ohtsuka Akio (Ikander in Fate/Zero, Black jack from "Black Jack, Japanese vocie of Solid Snake)

Urara Takano (Maria Tachibana from Sakura Taisen)

Houko Kuwashima (Wang Yi from Dynasty Warriors, Clare from Claymore)

For Mikako Komatsu you should have mentioned she's voicing Sei in Gundam Build Fighters. Being the main character of a Gundam series is a pretty big thing.

While I do have some veteran seiyuu whose voices that I loved for some time, I do want to hear voices from newer seiyuu every now and then. Hence, I voted for "having a mix."

Hisako Kanemoto and Izumi Kitta aren't really "up-and-coming" as they've both been around for years and are already established seiyuu.

I am nicely suprised that the atack on titan VAs did nto get a mention; as the ones mentioned there are pretty great (except for the first place but whatever).

I just looked at the boxset. Did it seriously say "M" for mature??
Does that make the average anime XXX then? geez.... Chihayafuru is seriously one of the cleanest anime I've seen in recent memory next to Space Brothers and Polar Bear Cafe.
