The bit I neverly really understood about this one, is why the orbital ring was in the upper atmosphere. Did it ever properly explain that? I don't recall it doing so.

A lot of the danger for the window washers, and the dirty windows themselves seemed to stem primarily from the fact the ring was not fully in space.

Despite that a highly enjoyable low-key manga.

I never really got hung up on the science I'm afraid but I agree it's a lovely series.

I remember reading a few chapters of this and really enjoying it. I really need to finish it. I'm always up for some science fiction.

Wonderful review of a manga I really liked. I was worried for a while that it would suffer the fate of Kingyo Used Books and not be completed. (I'll Give It My All . . . Tomorrow took a long time to finish, too.)

I saw Silent Running when it first came out (I was in college). The making-of is worth tracking down. They shot the whole movie on an old aircraft carrier.

The setting of this series is fascinating. The plot REALLY crawled at times, but there is a big payoff in the last two volumes.
