The title tells you all.

I made this thread because today I woke up somewhat sad. During my sleep, I had dreamed that an anime called Happy Days was airing (or just finished, the dream was vague) in Japan and had just gotten a second season. It was slice-of-life (and I will....leave any further descriptions of its content vague for a very good reason) and from what I saw in the dream, cute as all get-out. Like Kiniro Mosaic or Non Non Biyori cute.

However, I never actually watched the show in my dream. No, I dreamed about....reading the ANN discussion thread on the first season. My dreams sure are interesting, huh? In any case, in this weird-dream-verse, I had utterly ignored the first season (which given the kind of show it was, made zero sense whatsoever but hey this is a dream), but upon announcing the second season I saw the error of my ways and read the discussion thread for it.

Then I woke up, with a new resolve to marathon the first season.

Then I realized that the show never actually existed.

;_;

(So...has this ever happened to you?)

So, Fonzie as an adorable shota trap, I take it?

As for the question in the thread title, I know it has happened to me at least a couple of times before. Unfortunately, I no longer recall the exact details of just what those imaginary series were, just that same experience of crawling out of bed looking forward to watching a couple more episodes while I drank coffee and ate breakfast, only to realize the show never existed. I believe both times I had been watching episodes from several different series right before going to bed, and my brain just sort of mashed them all together into something bizarre.

No, but I did have a dream that was a character in a Gundam/Babylon 5 cross-over. Mobile suits and Star Furies make an interesting mix.

Well I have always being trying to find a show/cartoon/anime that I saw as a childhood (about 10 years ago) about a perfect love square. A liked B, B liked C, C liked D, and D liked A. I asked here and on MAL, but I never got an answer. So it was probably a dream Sad.

There WAS a shota in it, I'll say that. Pink-haired catboy But I'll leave it at that. Mainly because everything else is incredibly vague. I barely remember anything inside the show. I remember:

-Said shotacat
-Some busty as hell teacher (seriously, we're talking High School DxD big) presiding over everything
-The whole show was about a school club

....And that's about it. I should mention that my mind appeared to have picked the title UTTERLY at random. I did not even notice the connection to the old American work. My mind was just firing completely random shit.

Sucks when that happens, huh...

You mean the new light novel adaptation "My Happy Days Are Past And Future But Never Now?!" Typical harem stuff, in my opinion, I mean a school club that only exists to go over the days events, they're really running out of ideas...

I think I may have dreamed about an existing anime, but it's more interesting when you're having a dream and you're vaguely aware that it's a dream, and you're thinking "this would make a great sci-fi movie (or fan fiction)" except then you wake up and realize none of the plot points that seemed so awesome in the movie make any sense.

I bet when you woke up, some of the plot points in your dream-anime seemed really weird, right?

Was it your avatar by any chance? Very Happy

I haven't dreamt about an anime that never existed but I did dream I was in an episode of Naruto once. I don't remember much of it but me Naruto Sakura and Kiba were heading out into the forest and... then I forget. It was strange as everyone apart from me was 2D, I'm not quite sure how that works.

Good gawd almighty I already know far more than I want to of what goes on in the minds of the depraved ecchi gaijinn/NEETs that show up here. I don't need to know any more. You guys know who you are. Don't post to this thread.

I just so happened to have this kind of dream for the first time not long ago. However, for the life of me, I can't remember most of what it was about anymore. I do recall it being somewhat action oriented and with anime characters that didn't visually resemble anything I've seen before. They didn't express any particular anime trope because they were in the middle of a seemingly dire situation (not a filler/SoL type where you see the same same formulas left and right). I can't remember whether or not they spoke in English, Japanese or whether or not there was any dialogue at all. This is bothering me now because when I woke up, I just thought "Oh, it was a dream," and promptly forgot almost everything.
