Eek. Looking forward to that new project, but I knew a lot of people who wanted to go specifically to see Watsuki...

Glad I didn't get tickets to go now. He was the only reason I wanted to attend.

That totally sucks. I can see a bunch of people being bummed out by this.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaah...I'm one of those people who was seriously looking at going mainly for Watsuki. He's one of my favorite creators and though he's made U.S. appearances every once in a while, he remains a rare encounter - the only time I've gotten to see him was way back at AX 2002. He's done a lot more work since then, and I'd love to hear him discuss it, as well as whatever all's going on with the Kenshin franchise, from the cool live-action movie to the "Uh...what?" new OAVs that came out recently.
I guess I can be glad that I'll save money, but I really was looking forward to seeing him. Top-shelf guest for me. Hopefully he'll make another con appearance soon.

Hopefully this "new project" will be at least decent, because that Kenshin manga reboot(?) was really... not that great.

A new Kenshin project?! OK, partially forgiven, Nobuhiro. :P Hopefully he'll make good on his appearance next time.

A sequel to Kinemaban maybe? That manga was fun but it felt to really lack something to make it stand out since it repeated the same story as the movie.

I just started re-reading Eyeshield 21 for the 6th time now (literally), and I hear this news? Wow. Too bad I only have enough money for Sakura-con and Anime Expo

I'm a bigger fan of Eyeshield than Kenshin, but money's tight ATM. I hope Otakon Vegas attracts a decent crowd, regardless.

This is a disappointment, and I'm quite happy that I haven't booked a flight yet to OV. I was going to go solely for Watsuki, and as Inagaki doesn't draw...that leaves Ando for the possibility of sketches..? Thanks, but no thanks, OV. I have a couple sketches from Ando when he was at AX 2008. It's not worth the $200 in airfare for me to go to Vegas to attend the con unless there's a someone there that's worth the money for me to attend. Hopefully they can get someone else before the con, otherwise they're probably on course for getting less than 2K in attendance.

That sucks. I have a friend from Japan who is going to Otakon and was EXCITED OFF THE WALL to meet him. I can't stand to see his face now...

That sucks, but I think it speaks a lot about Watsuki that he helped find a replacement guest (assuming I read that part right). then again, he also drops the bombshell of 'more Kenshin'...I AM INTRIGUED.

And here I thought such projects are being scheduled months beforehand. Not the best timing
I'm curious about the new project, though, it can possibly be connected to the new live-action movies. But whatever it is, as long as it's not an OVA, I'll be happy
