I have Record of Lodoss War and Magic Knight Rayearth but they are both bootlegs. I used to be able to watch them in English but for some reason I can't anymore. I still use the same player so that's not the problem. Anyway... I'm hoping to find these as legit discs and not bootlegs. Anyone know where I could buy them?

Lodoss War, you're more than likely gonna have to hunt down via Amazon or E-Bay for used copies as both the OVA series and TV anime have been long out of print since Central Park Media's closure.

Rayearth is also out of print, but Rightstuf does have season one sets and many individual volumes still in limited stock that you can get off them. Used copies are also available for the mentioned sets and volumes on E-Bay and Amazon along with whatever Rightstuf doesn't have (Season 2 sets and certain individual volumes), but be prepared to shell out more money on the Season 2 set if you have no interest in singles volumes.

Go for the remastered Rayearth collections as they look much better than the initial DVD releases.

ANN seriously needs to advertise their encyclopedia.

Don't know what kind of connection speed you have, but you can also watch it here Arrow Magic Knight Rayearth and find links to e-tailers that sell it (always be wary of #@%! resellers though)

Magic Knight Rayearth Collection

Magic Knight Rayearth DVD Economy Box 1 (Hyb)

Magic Knight Rayearth 2: TV Series Season Two (2005)

Holy crap! Legitimate copies of Magic Knight Rayearth season 2, remastered for less than the GDP of East Timor?!? I don't believe it.

A few month ago, I almost ordered what was pretty obviously a bootleg set that had been listed under Amazon.com's nebulous 'collectible' marketplace category. I've been chasing this set since at least February, so it was easy to get overeager. I'm rather excited to have a chance at getting a legal set for a sane price.

I don't quite believe it, but I've ordered one. I won't believe it until I'm holding it in my hands and am satisfied, upon inspection, as to its authenticity, but I sure hope that it's true.

Why did it become so rare so quickly, anyway?

When I looked at my e-mail account this morning, there was a message from Amazon.com telling me that they are unable to fulfill the request as the item is no longer available from the supplier.

I'm completely unsurprised. I'm frustrated too, but I expected this. I didn't even record the expenditure even though I had nominally incurred it. It had seemed 'too good to be true'.

Then I realized that the order number that had been cancelled was for the one that I had placed in July after TRSI at last gave up on fulfilling the order that I had placed in late January. I still don't really believe it, but it seems that, contrary to my expectations, I might just get it after all.

Because Media Blasters.

Season one is still easy to get, so I guess that they either assumed that there would be a large loss in sales between the second and first sets or were in more trouble when they started pressing the second set and couldn't produce as large of a stock. I believe that they still hold the license, but I doubt that they'll ever put new copies out.
