I'm going to chime in with Ayanoi High from GA Geijutsuka Art Design Class, although there the school seems fairly normal and it's just the students who are crazy. Well, they do have chickens wandering everywhere but frankly compared to some of the other schools on the list that seems pretty mundane.

Ah Nodame Cantabile and Honey & Clover two of the best josei series. At least Hachikuro made it state side but poor Nodame Cantabile. We never got the anime here and the manga got cancelled.

As soon as I read the title I thought of Suimei University of the Arts from The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Glad to see I wasn't alone!

I had trouble with the poll this time around, picking that is (Kenshin, Edward, Hiei, Levi...)...
Chrno from Chrno Crusade was always a favorite of mine and he didn't make the list.
and I suppose children were left off the list but Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura and Gon and Killua from Hunter X Hunter would also have been good additions.
Ultimately, I voted for Kenshin but I'm predicting Edward will win.

I agree with you about Chrono (he's a favorite of mine too), but I guess Syaoran wouldn't be in the poll because he's a little kid. Plus he gets PRETTY tall in Tsubasa lol.

I was surprised that the school from UtaPri didn't make the list. Yazagaku does double-duty in my mind - it's the school from her (regretfully unlicensed) Gokinjyo Monogatari too.

I'm surprised Gold Crown Academy didn't make it in here.

Sho Kazamatsuri (Whistle!) should totes be a part of the poll!!

Seconded. These are both considerable characters. Although for clarification on the latter, it should be Yugi Mutou, not his alter ego Atem (a.k.a. Yu-Gi-Oh) who is about 5'10".

Just a clarification on Sakurasou - it wasn't that the residents were necessarily delinquents at Suimei, but that they were people who caused difficulties for others (or people strongly associated with them).
I don't think anyone would describe Mashiro as a delinquent, but she could sure be difficult.

I agree with the list! Nodame Cantabile deserves the top spot IMO
And for the poll I voted for Otani he is so sensitive about it and Lovely Complex's story revolves around his height

My cursor was headed toward Elric, but then I saw Kenshin on there. Sorry, Ed!

Hurrah! More lovin' for Nodame Cantabile!
So many great short characters. Buuut it's Kenshin who touches me in a special way.

"Who're you callin' short???!!!" -- Edward Elric
I don't think any of the other candidates displayed as much range of character (or strength of character) as Ed did. Of course, he was *the* main character in two long anime series, but I liked him from the start, and always got a kick out of his overractions to being called (or merely implied to be) short. And then Winry told him she wasn't into guys shorter than she was...

How could we ever forget about the super prestigious St. Marie's Academy of culinary masterpieces from Yumeiro Pâtissière?
