Yeah, there's definitely more they can tell in the universe of Gargantia. Should be interesting to see what the future holds for it!

As long as we are speculating, I imagine one possibility might be announcing a movie compilation that summarizes the Gargantia TV series but with a few new scenes here and there.
That sort of project seems to be popular enough, though if they actually come up with something else I'll at least attempt to check it out. |

spoiler[Wasn't most of his cranium portion preserved? (ie assumably most of where his AI is stored) and Ledo still had his Chamber communication device in the final shots which could imply he wasn't just keeping it around as a keep sake and in a sense "Chamber is still around, just lacking the god machine hardware"] |

it ended beautifully the way it did. chamber lived to destroy the hideauze. after learning that they aren't as big a threat anymore, in death his body serves as a breeding ground for them
a perfect way to end it. a second season would only ruin it now. a spin-off may be, but a sequel shouldn't have chamber (and i don't think it would work without him). it would make the ending of season 1 have less meaning |

If it's anything less than an OVA or 2nd season then the "important announcement" tag would be rather silly.
There's a lot of directions they could go with the story. As long as Bellows gets a lot of screen time I'm happy. |

If it's any kind of continuation I would hope it's a movie and not a full second season. While they could show us more of that universe, the show wrapped itself up pretty much perfectly and extending things too far could ruin it.
