If this isn't the biggest news out of TAF this year, I don't know what is. Wangan Midnight is one of the top manga in Japan, and its arcade game is radically popular both in Japan and here in the states.
This MUST be licensed and hopefully we get the manga with it. Bandai, Geneon, ADV, FUNimation, the Mafia, somebody license this or I kill the cell phone.

If this doesn't have Eurobeat music, I will be disappointed.

Absolutely. The opening has to be Stream of Tears! Man, I cannot wait until everyone is introduced to Akio and Reina.

i was excited about this news ever since i heard of it last november but "fingers cross" where is 5th stage info for ID... i would be very surprised if there is eurobeat since the games use mainly trance and techno music over eurobeat.

Nitpick. Initial D is about Touge Racing, and that sort of racing is not officially recognized as a form of legitimate racing, like the Super GT or D1.

I think it should also be known that "Wangan" in Wangan Midnight refers to a part of the Shuuto Expressway in Tokyo. And as it's name implies, it's near the bay, and is the longest and straightest road in Japan, hence a lot of races in the middle of the night.

Seconded, I love the music from the game. In fact I put that soundtrack in place of the original for Burnout 3.

I'd rather see more Initial D or maybe Over Rev? But hey, I'm grateful for this too.

Well, given how the Tuner Crowd has "matured" (thought there are still some idiots out there), if the company that gets it hires a competant versed in automotive tuning and doesn't resort to "street slang" then they could make it work.
Then again.....I still reel in the fact that people think "The Fast and the Furious" is a tell-all bible of how to get into Tuning cars.

Very glad to hear this news too. Learned of Wangan Midnight after sampling Initial D. It's got a kicking eurotechno soundtrack.
Perhaps this anime series is gonna sell next to the PSP game.
Yeah, I'd like to see Wangan Midnight manga licensed, as well as Over Rev.

I think Wangan Midnight using Eurobeat will be too much like Initial D, though the manga of Wangan came out 2 or 3 years before Inital D's did. I put Wangan Midnight as one of the most underrated mangas out there along with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I tried to find some of the live action movies last year in Japan, but no luck.
Does anyone know the seiyuu cast or know how many episodes it's going to be yet?

I hope they put the Techno/Trance music in it because that is the signature that makes Wangan Midnight very popular.
On another note, the arcade game is still being played .....BY A LOT. Although it does burn your wallet easily (spent 300 game credits and I'm still S class 4 level = S4)
