Yeah, right...
Well "Mr. Theater Manager," That's something you need to work on with the film distributors, not be asking a bunch of 14-15 year olds on a internet messageboard. Of course, since you run a theater you would know that , wouldnt you?

The above poster is right, to really get something into your theater you need to talk to the companies who have the rights to the movies and see if you can negotiate with them to send the materials to your "theater" so you can show it to all the anime lovers. On another note, as a theater manager, shouldn't your grammar be a little more improved? You are a professional, right?

maybe a double attack is too much even if you two are right.
but anyways how about looking at the list of the most popular anime and show movies from those. tell your booker and get the rights to show them publically from the companies.

Hey guys, give him a break. He just wants some input on what movies would be good to play in his theater. Talking to the companies only works once you have some idea of what you want to play.
On the other hand, this might technicly be seen as a recommendations thread.
I would suggest looking at ANN's top ten anime listings, and reading some reviews around here. A little research should make it easier to pick.

Yeah, really. The fact that he types like a ten year old pretty much ruins any credibility he has as a manager of anything. Plus as a manager, he should know exactly what to do.

That is exactly what im looking for recommendations... I was hoping to get good input but it appears that only Eruanna has a decent understanding of getting the bookings go... i could care less about if you beleive me or not but is it that hard to just post some recommendations? it appears all you want to do is flame people ill just go somewhere else for answers.

Well, recommendation threads arent allowed, and there's a big stickied thread that should help you out, "Mr. Manager."

meh, this sounds like nothin more that a poor attempt to get around the no recomendations rule.
I find it tough to believe that a manager would choose to try and find Anime titles to show by asking about it on some message board.

You'd be surprised how many professionals out there have sub-par grammar and/or writing skills. Even handwriting can fail in a professional (I swear the person I create orders for writes in chicken scratch.... and a one legged chicken, at that) but he's very good at what he does. A person's worth and ability doesn't necessarily show in how correctly they type, how eloquently they speak, or how neat they dress. Besides, there are some people who are hired to help professionals with this. (Just as if you were writing a thesis, you could hire someone to review it and correct all of your grammatical errors and short-comings.)
Maybe you'd like to take up a career in that fighterholic? j/k

Especially on the internet. It always astounds me how people in their late twenties still have no idea that "omg typin lyk dis isnt rely cool"
All this guy is missing some capitals and punctuation, so I personly dont find as offensive to my eyes as "lol netspeak"
However, I do agree. MaBoB, you really do need to type properly online, otherwise it does make you sound less credible. Heck, I get after my Dad alot for typing the way you do. Its just a better practice all around to learn proper grammar and typing skills.

As for that, recommendation threads arent allowed here right now. So, as I said before, try checking out ANN's reviews and finding something you like.
But good luck to you! I think its awsome that you want to show anime films in your theater. I wish the theaters where I live did.

I hate to just make a list, but here's a handful of anime films that have screened in American theatres (semi-)recently. Whether they'll be available as 35mm films, I have absolutely no idea.
Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence
Tokyo Godfathers
Perfect Blue
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Fullmetal Alchemist: The Movie -- Conqueror of Shambala
X: The Movie
Akira
I would recommend pretty much any of them. There's also Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! movies, but I'm guessing that's not what you're looking for? Also, while not anime, Viz has recently released 3 live action Japanese dramas in limited theatrical runs (Train_Man: Densha Otoko, Linda Linda Linda, and The Taste of Tea) that you might have an easier time of both obtaining and selling tickets for. Just a thought.
Also, WOW, were most of the other responses in this thread unhelpful. How is looking at the Top 10 anime list helpful to a movie theatre when you can't air a TV series there?

If you do even just a little bit of hunting, you can easily find the reviews of the movies, not just the TV series.
