I'm really glad other people like this series since I just don't get it. I have a "watch one episode, seen them all" attitude for this series and the only reason why I'm buying the third volume is that it is only 3 DVDs long. The humor is a bit too crude for me, and it also feel rather hostile with it's personal attacks. I should mention I absolutely despise South Park, and find it's humor all too similar to NDB. I suppose some of my disappointment stems from the fact that I loved Excel's humor which seemed more aimed towards anime and culture than individulas. I did love when they quoted Dio since like many Japanese I used to read JoJo's. I also laughed when the Tachikomas referred to the stand "The World" in GITS and wouldn't be surprised if only a handful of people in the States understood the joke. It also reminded me of the "you are already dead" quote in Gantz, which didn't have ADV notes for those who didn't read Jump in the 80s.
I am glad to give almost anything ADV releases a shot since their on disc extras are usually the best in the market, and (D'Eon's booklet) the external extras tend to be second only to Funimation's.

Which ep?

There was a Devilman and Inspector Gadget reference they missed on NDB, too.
The matron in the third episode turns into the former, and the iron claw of the wife is from the latter series.

It's one of the Tachikoma skits I believe in the second season. I think one of the Tachikomas invokes the stand but it has been some time since I've watched the DVD.
I also remember the ADVnotes commenting on "this is a pen" which always cracks me up. I think it was in an episode of Maison where Godai is saying "this is a pen... I am a boy..." I can't think of other examples at the moment, but it is a common English phrase for students.
