The Gravity Rush trailer was played during the PSVita Game Trailers section at Sony's TGS booth, so I think it's safe to say it's a Vita game.

The 3DS's outstanding year continues with another couple of games I'd love to own. Unfortunately neither Etrian Odyssey Untold (its focus on actual characters and story make it far more appealing to me than the mainline series) nor Rune Factory 4 are dated for Europe yet, though RF4 is at least confirmed to be coming at some point.

And fantastic news about the Gravity Rush sequel. The first one is gorgeous and utterly charming.

Is Rune Factory a good series? I've been interested in it for a while but I'm unfamiliar with its previous releases so I'm not sure if I want to pull the trigger.

Same kind of goes with Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl, though I suspect I should play Etrian Odyssey 4 first. Which is on my short list.

There is a demo, which lets you carry over your save to the full retail version should you want to continue playing.

The first Rune Factory is a bit of a hit/miss I feel since there were some problems with the functions of the combat system and magic. The second one had the same problems but had a better story I feel since it explained the story better and you could play your kid (in which you can choose a boy or girl).

Three I felt was the best because the magic and combat system was improved greatly (which was one of the main problems) and you could transform into a monster. The story was cooler too. If you like Harvest Moon and Zelda, then you'll really like this game too. I haven't played the console games yet and only talking about the main number series.

Wind Waker may be one of the weaker Zelda games in terms of gameplay but in terms of story, mood and visual aesthetic it is hands down the best.

Hmm... deep down sounds a little like Soul Sacrifice mixed with a medieval Assassin's Creed.

Oh and props to Wind Waker HD. The improvement from the original and use of the gamepad was BRILLIANT.

Drakengard 3 has actually started to look decent after the first hideous looking reveals. Still, that flower looks dumb and ruins the mc's character design. She just looks stupid and I can't get past it.

Atlus has been scaled back for a while. There are at least 10-20 published or developed Atlus games on the ps2. I believe there 5 on the xbox, ps3, and Wii combined. Catherine, Persona Arena, Dragon Crown and I think 2 Trauma Center games on the Wii.

They seemed to spend more time promoting cruddy downloadable titles like Zeno Clash and God Mode recently, then working putting out normal retail game releases. So I honestly can't see any major issues with Sega's acquisition. If anything Sega has had a fairly solid relationship with Sony, hell they are making one of the few vita games on the system, so we might see a return to more atlus works on the ps systems.

Well Zeno Clash isn't cruddy, but that's nothing new. Atlus USA has always published non-Atlus games. This gen there were just less Japanese games to publish, so what else where they supposed to do? So they published more western games to fill out their release calendar.

Not only that, basicly every Japanese developer has had HD problems, so it's no surprise they haven't been pumping out console games. Besides it's not like they still haven't been making games, just not on consoles. Like a lot of Japanese developers.

I'm not sure how you can't see any problems with Sega. They sure aren't releasing Vita games in the US, can't even get PSO2 out in the west, and have a problem putting out niche games, the kind of games Atlus' lives off.

But it's not Sega who acquired them. It's Sammy who owns Sega and thus Sega-Sammy who then just did'nt even put them straight with Sega, they made an entirely new holding company. So it could be alright. Who knows.

Hiroshi Yamauchi:

Quote:
It covers Nintendo's journey from playing-card company to toymaker to video-game monolith, and it details Yamauchi's rise to power, starting with him forcing his own cousin out of the company. He was president of a game-industry giant, but he didn't play games (the above image is the only one I've seen of him holding a controller; it may be Photoshopped). He owned the Seattle Mariners, but he didn't care about baseball. He was perhaps a moody tyrant and a bit of a jerk, but he was a businessman before all else, even when he was blowing up at Coleco executives or deriding Square and Enix's RPGs as “boring.”

Wow, even if he was responsible for moving Nintendo in the direction that led it to become the powerhouse it is now, he sounded like a total ass.

...And that image looks shopped to me too. Not to mention how fake that smile is.

Unsung Story: I wonder if Matsuno will ever sit still. The guy migrates more than the Arctic Tern. I tend to hear people say they want him to come back and finish Tactics Ogre already.

Sega Acquiring Atlus: The most common remarks I'm hearing in regards to this are either:

1. "Dear god, the Persona series is doomed now!"
2. "SMT x FE will be cancelled now."

Even if we go by the "Sega's going to decide everything".

1. Persona is popular, they aren't going to mess with it.

2. Sega has a good working relationship with Nintendo as seen with their Sonic games. Doubt they'd cancel it.
