I get the sense that when Limdo's father tried (Volume 2 spoilers)to kill him, because of the propecy that said, when Genbu is summoned his son will surely kill him, he has in a sense made sure the prophecy will be fullfilled. By trying so hard to prevent it, he has created a self-fulfilling prophecy. Thoughts on this.

I wouldn't really call it a self-fulfilling prophecy but a futile effort to prevent a prophecy, because they always come true. Just look at Orpheus.

Do we know that fate is set in the Fushigi Yuugi world like in Greek mythology, and not changable. Because it seems it is his actions to prevent the prophecy that give his son Limdo a reason to want him dead.Just because seers cannot lie does not mean that the future they see is set in stone either.

I'd tend to say that a prophecy is a prophecy and at very least Limdo's father seems to believe it true enough.

Hence the "Self Fulfilling" part. By trying to avoid it you make it come true.
