This is something that just popped into my mind the other day.
Do any of you people tend to watch certain anime titles at specific tmes of the day? If so, why? (I'm aware that some people have varying levels of free time to be able to do such things, but feel free to comment on when you'd watch a title IF it was possible!)
As for myself, it's usually the mood/atmosphere of the series that would drive me to watch them at specific times of the day, like watching a bright, sunny series during the day, for instance. This will usually allow me to enjoy a series more, as well.
Usually, slice-of-life titles, especially ones that generally have a sunny/summer-esque feeling or setting are ones that I tend to watch on a lazy, sunny day, when possible. Titles that I watch with this in mind are Asatte no Hoko, Lamune, and the Aria series.
Action series that are darker in nature or have a strong sense of foreboding I tend to watch late at night, especially past 11 PM, as it tends to get me more pumped. One series I've watched doing this would be Blood+, Noein, and Fate/Stay Night.
On another point, I generally watch comedies (or romantic comedies with a stronger comedic element than romance) at night as well, but I prefer watching them at around 6-9 PM, when the night is still young (depending on the season). In this case, I really don't know why. I've done this with many comedies, such as Yakitate!! Japan, School Rumble, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Ichigo 100%.
Finally, I really enjoy watching romantic dramas & romantic comedies that have a stronger romance element/(are adaptations of dating sims) during the evening (the time doesn't matter in this case). The darkness of night seems to really heighten the series' moments of suspense and foreboding for me. I've done this for several series, including Rumbling Hearts/Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, Shuffle!, Suzuka, Canvas 2, To Heart 2, and currently Kanon 2006.
Well, that's it from me. I'm curious as to what other people have to say about this. =\

I tend to watch all my anime around the same time: later in the evening before I go to bed. Since I work during the day, and by the time Iv gotton home and eaten supper, its already "later in the evening"
Dern I hate the way our society functions like that.

I watch anime whenever I can, but one thing that's stood out for me is that I always have to watch NANA in the evening. I don't know if it's just force of habit, or the fact that my house is usually quiet around then so I can really think about the episode, but it just doesn't feel right unless it's late afternoon or early evening.

For the most part, I have a set block of time that I'll watch anime during: between 1am-5am. A lot it's due to the fact that I (used) to work closing shifts as a restaurant manager, and didn't get home till after midnight. However, I also prefer this time period, though. During the middle of the night, the house is quiet, and I receive no interruptions from others due to the rest of the family being asleep. It really allows me to concentrate on what I'm watching, instead of being called on to perform various errands while I'm in the middle of watching something. That's not to say that I won't watch something during the day. It just so happens that I spend my waking time before I go to work taking care of various aspects of personal business that cannot be done in the middle of the night.
Strangely enough, even though I'm in school and not working at the moment, I still find myself slipping into my late night viewing patterns every now and then.
As for the weather, I've never noticed any genre preferences based on outside conditions.

I have to say that it's the same thing with me. Usually early in the evening between seven o' clock and one at night. Maybe it's in the later times because I know my parents aren't going to say anything about my laying in bed watching anime and wasting my time. On some occasions if my whole family is downstairs watching television, that's when I'm going to watch it, because I know they're preoccupied with what they're doing downstairs.

I just watch it whenever I get the chance (like tomorrow from 10:00 AM to 10:30 PM, all that time to watch anime and will use it) During the week I don't really get a chance because of school and I have games to beat (FFXII, Okami, Tales of Legendia, Gears of War and Enchanted Arms) so I watch most anime on weekends. But time of day doesn't matter to me, so I just watch whatever.

Not as much a time issue as a "What am I watching first?". But even that is one sided. I can watch anything to drama, but I usually can't go from drama to anything else. For instance, going from certain episodes of Kanon, or Yakusoku no Bashyo, to say... something such as Negima!? or Black lagoon just doesn't do it for me. I am too depressed.

Generally, I just watch anime whenever I'm in the mood and find the time.
There was one time, however, where reeeeally late at night (I think it was something like midnight or 1am), I settled down on the floor in front of the TV with a grilled cheese and ham sandwhich and a disc of Full Metal Panic and realized "...this is such a 'guilty pleasure' anime for me..."
So, with guilty pleasure anime I tend to watch it late at night by myself. Otherwise, I watch it whenever.

Although during the day I may watch something I tend to watch it mostly at night between 12-4 am. It’s an old habit that started out of necessity. My father, a night worker, for some strange reason had a habit of falling asleep in the room where the television was during the day, and really didn’t want to move from that spot until it was time to go back to work. So going in there trying to watch TV was like waking a hibernating bear up early. To adapt I took to the graveyard shift of watching TV, which was cool at the time with adult swim and anime unleashed being on. Not to mention a local anime club having a timeslot showing stuff.

I usually watch anime after work (around this time at night) and usually watch until about 5-7AM. The donut shop next door opens at 5AM, so I often take a break for some fresh pastries. I tend to save movies and shows with a good 5.1 mix for the days I have off since it would be mean to my roommates to blast 800+ Watts of audio during this time of night. So the time of day does influence what I watch. I also tend to save the shows that I don't care for for after donuts since it is less important if I dose off during them.

Just when the show's airing. Otherwise, I've even stayed up until 2 AM watching something on YouTube (whenever I try to see a new series)
But lately I just watch it at lunch on weekdays (Hungry Heart) and on weekend mornings (Captain Tsubasa)

Working on the presumption that we're talking about a weekend day that I have nothing else to do and have decided to devote to throwing anime in the DVD, I don't have any set pattern except for a tendency to watch horror and other dark-toned anime after the sun goes down and family-oriented anime while the sun is still out - but even that's not written in stone. Other than that, I don't usually start anything until after 12 noon and have a period in the late afternoon (15 to 45 minutes depending on the time of year) when I have to stop because of sun glare due to the position of my TV.
Time of the year makes a difference too. Like many people in the U.S. I tend to watch more horror (anime or otherwise) during the month of October to get in the mood for Halloween. I also tend to watch anime with alot of winter imagery more often between late December and late February. Anime with alot of pastel colors are great for spring, and anime with warm red/brown palletes are great for autumn.

Interesting question. These days, due to my sucky "Zalis has to work split shift closing because we can't staff this restaurant worth a damn" schedule, I mainly have time to watch anime between 2-5 PM and 11 PM - 5 AM. So, during the afternoon, I put on comedy or lighthearted fare, often stuff that's on DVD with a good/tolerable English dub. Examples have included PaniPoni Dash, Slayers, Desert Punk, and Strawberry Marshmallow. After I get home from work at night, I generally go for slifey mood-lifters like Kamichu!, Cardcaptor Sakura, Someday's Dreamers, or Azumanga Daioh. Like others in this thread, I tend to save the sad/romantic stuff for later at night, though series based on dating games, sad or not, tend to be the "nightcaps." Sentimental Journey and Seraphim Call worked pretty well as "one episode before bed" anime, since there's no particular need to marathon episodic series like those.
As far as time of year goes, I do like to watch wintery series in winter and summery series in summer, though it doesn't always work out. Kanon 2002 was a November watch, and Please Teacher and AIR were great series for late May in 2004 and 2005. And I also try to watch more scary series in the fall, like marathoning Paranoia Agent over a weekend out of town in October. (And yes, I am obsessive enough that I track when I've completed every series I've watched, including rewatches: )

Here's what I do. I watch 3-5 animes at a time, 2 episodes each and I watch throughout the day. Before I go to school (around 9 AM - 11 AM) I watch depressing animes, you know, the ones that are kinda dramatic and sad.. I thought that I should watch the sad ones during the morning so that when I go home at night (around 8 PM until 1 AM) I can watch really funny and happy ones to pick me up a bit. During my break time (around lunch until 6 PM) I watch animes online. Doesn't matter if they're funny or tragic, I just want to do something with my free time..
