Hmm, I don't think so. The only fanservice I really remember all that well was the one panty shot in the opening (surprisingly, I can't remember any more in the actual series...) and the episode I assume you are refering to (The one with the ostrich... haven't seen D.C. in a few years... can't remember...). |

There was a little bit of fanservice in episode 5 (6?) and a few other episodes had very small amounts of fanservice (can't remember which ones), but episode 13 probably had the most fanservice in the series (the rest of the episodes were pretty tame). |

I've only seen the first few episode of DC so I can't comment on a age rating for it. Anyway though, I think the age rating for Shuffle! needs to be changed from Mature to Teenagers. It has the average amount of fanservice that you'd expect from any game-to-anime harem series (and interestingly, that content is only found in the first half of the series).
EDIT: I just remembered this one. The NANA anime series should get a Teenagers rating. There is sexual content and nudity; in general, the series (manga included) is geared towards an older audience. |

That's a bit debatable, as some episodes were slapped with the R-15 rating during its broadcast in Japan. |

I hope you're not referring to the beach episode. Bikinis aren't really fanservice...
Now that you mention it, I do remember the R-15 viewer discretion screens before certain episodes. I think that rating is exaggerated (just like how Trinity Blood gets a TV-MA rating on Adult Swim). I'm still gonna stick with a Teenagers rating for it. |

First off, Miho, are you someone I know from some other forum or do you just happen to have excellent taste? Both of your avatars so far, Colette and Milfeulle, are two of my favorite characters. I've had avatars of them before too. Could be just a coincidence I guess, but I never see anyone here with my same exact tastes... Other than people I have shown this forum to.
I remember there are some scenes that focus on fanservice from that episode (meaning they actually are uneeded and are really just there to please fans). Still, I don't think it needs a teen rating... |

This is the only forum I've posted on so far (actually...this is my first time posting in any forum on the internet), and yes, I also really like Milfeulle and Colette . Coincidence, maybe?
Yeah, I guess if you look at the series as a whole... it probably doesn't need to rated Teenagers, since the show itself doesn't have that much fanservice in it. And the age rating for Shuffle!... I think a Teenagers rating for it would be better. It does get pretty fanservicey at times, but it tends to be brief, and some of the episodes have no fanservice at all. |

The correct age rating for Shamo would be mature. Due to violence (plenty of bones breaking, people getting beaten up, shooting), blood (people getting stabbed, spoiler[one guy gets his penis bitten clean off]), sexually explicit content (spoiler[sex and some guys getting butt-raped at a correctional facility]), and drug use.

Utawarerumono doesn't have a rating. It'd be Teen due to violence and some language (in the dub, of course, because ADV does that).

I've heard the series gets pretty graphic half way through. Depending on the extent (which I have no idea how "graphic" it is), it may get a "mature" rating. Have you seen all of it, or just what ADV has released so far? |

I've seen the whole thing, not the dubs yet obviously since they are not all released, it's not really more graphic in the latter episodes and has about the same amount of violence. I'd rate the whole thing 13+ and looking at the description for the teenager rating in the encyclopedia, "May contain bloody violence, bad language, nudity" I'd say it fits in. The most they can add to the dub is the language, though I can't see where they can add too much to this one. |

Why is Crying Freeman rated Adult while Berserk is just rated Mature?

You must be referring to the manga, I just checked it out. Possibly with the manga, it may be very sexually explicit compared to Berserk. Berserk as we all know has a lot of sex and violence in it. This manga may be beyond that in it's violence and sex. |

I saw what ADV released. Well, anyway, why is Solty Rei rated Mature? When I looked at Best Buy and the DVD was rated TV-PG which is like a 13-up. But then again, Cowboy Bebop got a Mature rating and it was rated 13+. But it's too low, as Areaseven said... |

Do you think Prètear should have a 15+ rating? I don't think so. I mean, it's no worse than Sailor Moon!
