I suppose you all know the game Viva Pinata(aka Atsumare! Pinata when in Japan) has its own show. I wonder what will happen when it hits Japan as MS may push it there for the sake of profit.

Also, you know that 4kids, infamous for poor quality dubs and questionable edits of anime, produced the show. I wonder what if this VP show gets edited in Japan as "cultural mainstreaming" like what 4kids did to anime. Also, instead of changing food, some food may actually be added to the scene to further familarize with the locals. Also, some exclusive episodes may be produced for the sake of appealing to the young foreign crowd.

Also, some extreme measures would be going from CG to cel animation, or abandoning the entire Western series to a create a seperate parallel series exclusive to Japan and for the sake of appealing to Japanese children and parents.

Basically, I this is the only Western show that I seen in my life that may get heavily dub, even though law says it is okay, but for MS's gain. I wonder how will Western cartoon fans react to this type of edits.

Microsoft.

It wouldn't be the only Noth American series to be brought to Japan unproperly. Infact, althought being many years ago, Beast Wars was brought to Japan, but Takara did gender changes to Airrazor a female maximals into a male, which would be hard to explain as Airrazor would fall in love with Tigertron, another male, If I recall correctly Takara got away with it with them being brothers or something...

Ok that was pretty small when compared to 4kids. I want to know do you think MS may force dubbing companies to create exclusive episodes to appeal to the Japanese children and parents.

This is a reverse Pokemon situation, a Western invasion, a possible flood of Western toons to Japan, the polar reversal of cartoons, do you get the image? Shocked

MS = Microsoft

This topic is pointless. You're just speculating on a show that might come to Japan and might be edited and might do poorly.

However, you might be happy to hear that there are reports that the game is doing abysmally and Rare founders Chris Stamper and Tim Stamper have left Rare, but deny that it is because of the poor sales of Viva Pinata.

Tell that to 4,000 members of the VP forumhttp://vivapinataforum.com/index.php also they know about the poor sales.

Anyway I wonder what candy do Japanese people eat as well as what dances to they perform? as Pinatas like candy and dancing is what a pinata likes to do.

*Tear* Sad Viva Pinata selling bad Crying or Very sad although the show was falsely advertising the show(Pinata's in the game don't speak if I recall) I thought it would sell good. It's kinda like LocoRoco, boy do I love that game, it's not selling all that well Crying or Very sad

Um, if they already know then why would I tell them? Confused Also there are 3480 members, the number on the front page includes deleted accounts (nearly 1200 of them!), you get an accurate number from the members list. And really, that's not an incredibly impressive number these days. By comparison the Phantasy Star Universe forum has nearly 50K members.

Er, it's selling well enough that Sony has called it very successful and has put a sequel into the works.

They did? But did she or he fall in love with Tigertron at all? Confused This looks like Takara is showing a gay relation between the two "male" maximals. They should've made them brothers rather than a gay couple so that nobody would get confused with the Japanese version.

I said what do you think the あつまれ!ピニャータ (Atsumare! Pinata) show would look like in Japan?!! Small edits or Japanization to the utmost extreme.

Uh, maybe you could just wait longer than an hour and a half before getting worked up about no one replying?

I'm going to go with "exactly like the American version but in Japanese." Since I have no reason to believe they would make changes to a cartoon about a game for a console that few in Japan seem to be interested in.

Really, this is a pointless topic. Just a thinly veiled way to further rag on 4Kids.

And for one, 4kids didn't do half-bad on the voicing of the Pinata's in the show. They actually make it seem funny, if I cared enough to pay much attention.

I really don't think there's any reason to rag on 4kids other than their crappy anime dubs, and that's really only One Piece, Ultimate Muscle and some others. Shaman King wasn't half-bad with voicing, but I wish it wasn't cut up. Crying or Very sad and I wish 4kids would do the voices for Pokemon again...

With their American shows, they don't do too bad, like TMNT, VP or even Winx Club wasn't that bad for awhile. They just need to not Eff up the anime titles.
