Never mind that, I'm still confused on how any cat, even if it is a talking time-traveling one, can be over 4 feet tall. Jesus, I'd be scared to let that thing in my house, let alone my children!

It is a pretty plush doll but I want a smaller and hug-able size. I had one but it was bootleg and not very nice.

Totally overpriced aimed at the most hardcore doraemon fans with deep pockets.
250-300 would be a more realistic price.

1. Doraemon is incredibly popular in Japan (more demand = higher prices)
2. The market for this is Japan (things just come with a higher price tag over there)
People really need to loose their "Well, in 'murica, things cost X amount and they should carry those same prices everywhere else!" mindset when it comes to discussing products for sale IN JAPAN (different markets = different price structures).

I agree with this completely. Japan's inflation and currency value is completely different. Just because it costs 2k over there, doesn't mean it would cost that if they sold it over here.

Well, Doraemon is a robot. I don't know what would be considered "life size" for time travelling cat robots.
