Bwahaha, a new Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni series! Definitely one of the better horror, thriller series of this year. And I hope to GOD (or Oyashiro-sama ) Studio DEEN gets a much better budget since there couple moments the art quality flat out sucked.

I think there were a few more problems with Higurashi than the design work, which was attrocious. In the 5% chance I actually feel like subjecting myself to more of this disjointed and goofball horror series, I'm hoping to see a vastly improved art style and better use of the concept.

Personally, I'd wish that mad house would be put in production of higurashi since they've done such an amazing job with both Monster and Death Note. And hopefully when the inevitable 20th century boys anime comes around mad house would be my top pick.

Madhouse is unpredictable though. You've got great looking series like Death Note and NANA, but then you've got series like Ichigo 100% and Strawberry Panic which are just as, if not lazier than the animation in Higurashi. Madhouse is good when they need to be, but Studio Deen is capable as well. Even still, no amount of good animation is going to fix just how lame the character designs in Higurashi are.
