Hey, I thought of a fun new trivia game for this forum: "What Do They Have In Common?"! Pretty self-explanitory: name an anime or something in an anime and try to make a connection between that and another anime or anything else as long as one of the items is an anime (otherwise Tempest or Cookie would lock this thread). To save time, you don't need to write the full question, just ________ & _________

Here's an example: French dub of Sailor Moon S and the Wes Anderson film Rushmore?

A: In the French dub of Sailor Moon, Hotaru Tomoe is called "Olivia Williams" and Olivia Williams is the name of the actress that played Miss Rosemary Cross in Rushmore.

Here's a few "baby questions" to get you started:

1) Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura & Cotton Hill (Hank's father) from King of the Hill?

2) The Tsukino family from Sailor Moon & The Simpson family?

3) Tuxedo Mask & Akira Ijuuin?

There are serious, non "smart-ass", answers for all three questions.

No takers? Okay, I'll give a few hints...

Quote:

1) Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura & Cotton Hill (Hank's father) from King of the Hill?

They both have the same general type of thing, and it's an American thing; if you watch episode 2 of Cardcaptor Sakura frame-by-frame it should be pretty apparent.

Quote:

2) The Tsukino family from Sailor Moon & The Simpson family?

It has something to do with the creators of both series. (BTW, for those of you that want to know what I thought of the live reading of a Simpsons script by (most of) the cast I attended last Friday, here's a brief summary.)

Quote:

3) Tuxedo Mask & Akira Ijuuin?

It has something to do with Akira's activities outside of the CLAMP School student council and the detective agency (this one's a lot more obvious than the other two).

Hey, Tenchi. I like your game. Really makes you think.

This is a long shot, but...
Sailor Moon and the Simpsons originated in another incarnation and are spinoffs. Sailor Moon originally came from Code Name wa Sailor V and the Simpsons spun off the short on the Tracey Ullman Show.

Thanks... I thought we needed a thread game that was a bit more intellectually stimulating than just being able to spell the name of your favourite series.

No, it's something regarding the main families in both series and the creators of said series (Naoko Takeuchi and Matt Groening).

Yes indeedy... Naoko Takeuchi's parents are named Kenji and Ikkuko, as are Usagi's, and Naoko has a younger brother named Shingo, as does Usagi. (She has a kid too, but it's not 984 years old and from the future.) For those of you that don't know, Matt Groening's parents are named Homer and Margaret (though everyone calls her "Marge" now), and his sisters are Lisa and Maggie.

You win... a new Avatar! (Offer not valid if you changed your Avatar within the past day. Offer only valid for this question.)

Another hint... in the King of the Hill episode "Ho, Yeah" (the episode wherein Hank inadvertently becomes a pimp, guest star "Snoop Dogg" as Alabaster Jones), Hank borrowed Cotton's thing in question.

Okay, I'll make this really really easy... just look for something visible in the frame at exactly 0:39:00 on the first Cardcaptor Sakura DVD.

A couple of new ones (I'll leave the Tuxedo Mask and Akira Ijuuin one open for now, because it is so easy).

4) Ryoko in Tenchi Muyo, Kei in Dirty Pair Flash & Natsumi Ginga/Anne in Sailor Moon R?

5) Ryoko in Tenchi Muyo (the Mihoshi Special), Natsumi Ginga/Anne in Sailor Moon R & Skeeter in Muppet Babies?

I think I know, but I'll let someone else answer it, though I believe one can also add Cowboy Bebop to that list, among many others.

I saw CCS for the first time today. Cute. Another magical girl show, but so far it's more engrossing than Sailor Moon. Anyway, on to the my answer attempt. Tomoyo Daidouji and Cotton Hill both own Cadillacs?

If I get where your going with this then you're only half right. In context of my question, Cowboy Bebop is not included. However, Card Captor Sakura and Chikyuu Shoujo Arjuna can be be included, at least partially.

Yes, though it's debatable, I admit, as to whether or not Tomoyo actually owns the Cadillac, or whether it's really Sonomi's. I'd argue it's Tomoyo's, since you never see Sonomi drive it, just Tomoyo's bodyguards.

Oh, pardon me, checking a Muppet Babies episode guide, the character in question was Skeeter, not Piggy... I'll correct the question.

This one is easy. I'll let someone else get this. Look in the encyclopedia for answers.
