That was my favorite mecha series from Nagai. Oh well, at least Ishikawa had a successful life.

Damn. We are/have losing/lost the great seiyuu and manga-kas: Tezuka, Ishimori, Ishikawa, Bob Papenbrook, etc. To think that one of the very first anime I remember seeing, Tranzinger, looked similar to Grendizer. BTW, why do Nagai and Ishikawa robots frequently end in "izer"?

Let's hope he had a hot-blooded death. Getter Wing.

I can't even count the legends that have died this year. Hirotaka Suzuoki, Ken Ishikawa. Next thing you know Takehito Koyasu is going to be keeling over.

Jesus, bite your tongue. No wishing bad luck to my fav VA. (Though there may be other VA's in Japan hoping the same)
He's not that old. They all seem to be in their late 50's.
We had a rash of it here a few yrs back.
Sadly, Ishikawa probably could have been saved. I've heard of guys dying like this-not saying anything, but having all the warning signs & blowing them off as nothing. My husband thought he had a cold & had some indigestion, but didn't take me up on the offer to go to the emergency room when I suggested it-made an appt with his dr instead. Found him dead the next morning. That was 6 yrs ago. Then we had a ball player collapse suddenly (in the news) & one of the department heads at my work was standing there talking to an aide & just keeled over-they tried reviving him, but the medical pros said he was probably dead by the time he hit the ground of a massive heart attack just like I was told my husband suffered.
