Was on digg and seen this story about 1up.com giving Gundam Crossfire a bad review, a 2.0/10. FTFA: "Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire doesn't just fail to be "next gen," it is barely last gen. The game is an embarrassment to the Gundam name, and raises suspicions that it was rushed for the PS3 launch. Clearly, the series -- and the fans -- deserve better." The author did have some nice things to say about other Gundam games though |

Weird, GameBrink did gave it a 83%. But, I don't really care about those too website, anyway. Neither do I trust them.

1up's bi-polar reviewer also gave Trauma Center a 6.5 so I'd look elsewhere for your game reviews.

At least the Gundam suits look nice and shiny even if the rest of the terrain and textures look bland and boring.
Buy Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam for true PS2 excellence. |

I think your beef is with someone else, and not this reviewer. Here is some video so you can judge. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/video_player/popup.php?sid=6158456 |

Was he...walking in place? If that's anything later than an early build of the game, then I'm afraid 1up's guy has some merit to him. Beyond that, though, this just looks like a case of "same sh*t, different day" for Playstation Gundam games. Just another clunky, third-person One Year War title that, at best, would only deserve an average score, anyway. |

Looked like some newb was playin that game in the video you posted. It looked good from a visual stand point. Maybe if we saw a video of someone playin who knew how to play would give a better insight to the game.

I do have to say that I think Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire does deserve its low rating or at least according to the vid.

So...you people are judging a game based on roughly 40 seconds of the game while it was being played by someone who didn't do anything aisde from die?
I'm not a fan of Gundam games and don't feel that Sony deserves to be shielded from any earned criticism but judging a game based on that isn't fair. I'm not even saying that the game isn't bad. It could be worse than E.T, Aquaman, Superman 64, and Drake of the 99 Dragons combined but until the game has existed for more than a day I don't think you can point to it and say "this is why next-gen sucks". I don't think it looked that bad. It just seemed like any ohter Gundam or Armored Core game I've ever seen. Though I did hate Armored core and have never heard of a truly good Gundam game so comparing it to those isn't a favour. Maybe I'll rent it or something when I buy a PS3 in the summer. If I buy one now I might get shot. |

Okay, now that we have a few more sites putting up reviews, we can get a little metascore going
Gamespot: 3.9/10 "Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire feels like a mediocre budget PlayStation 2 game that was ported to the PlayStation 3 and slapped with a $60 price tag. Diehard Gundam fans with a lot of cash to burn might enjoy looking at the mobile suits, but other than that, this game has nothing going for it. Even if you could get past the horrid frame rate problems, lackluster presentation, and lack of online multiplayer, the gameplay in Crossfire is practically identical to the half-dozen or more Gundam games that appeared on the PlayStation 2. If you're looking for a game to show off what your PlayStation 3 is capable of, Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire should be your last choice of all the launch titles." http://www.gamespot.com/ps3/sim/gundamworld/review.html?sid=6161990 IGN: 3.2/10 "Mobile Suit Gundam:Crossfire simply fails to do the one thing it has to do, and that’s to entertain. It takes archaic forms of gameplay and tries to update them for the next-generation but fails in almost every respect. It has a number of decent ideas, but they fail to make an impression in the face of so many inadequacies. It does nothing to prove what the PS3 can do visually, but more importantly, it simply fails as an action game for the next-generation, or any other for that matter." http://ps3.ign.com/articles/746/746536p1.html Yahoo! Games: 2/5 "There'd be some consolation if Gundam looked as good as Genji, but it doesn't. Not only do the menus and mission breakdowns look like something out of an SSi PC game circa 1992, the only vaguely impressive in-game elements are the Mobile Suits -- everything else looks rather rudimentary. If there were a lot more of the suits, and more missions to pilot them through, this could at least quality as shovelware. Instead, it's just launch lineup filler." http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=743412 GameBrink: 83/100 "If you’re looking for something different, well made, and features giant Mechs, well then this is the uh only way to go on launch day. But seriously it’s a solid Mech game that feels a tiny bit rushed and rough around the edges but otherwise is a very fun experience from the combat, to the mission goals, to the huge variety of machines you pilot and send orders to." http://www.gamerankings.com/itemrankings/launchreview.asp?reviewid=742035 Last edited by RezSav on Fri Nov 17, 2006 11:21 pm; edited 3 times in total |

Ok, so we have our confirmation now. We'll just have too wait to see how the Xbox 360's Gundam game will fare. But that's weird, the PlayStation 3 launch seem to be very poor.

i played it, it's better than Madden Football 2007 in my opinion. it depends what kind of the game that you like. But it's still not a very good game.
lol@ that link. that guy/girl doesn't know how to play video game. or does he/she intentionally play that bad? |

IGN also did a piece on how bad Gundam was....actually here that article. Basically the game has slow down even thought it only runs at 30 FPS. Not only that it's the best selling game at this time, which goes to prove that anime fans will buy a new gundam game no matter how crappy it is. Also the game doesn't have any online support and only a simple split screen.

I'd like to see what Game Informer says about it. A 2.0 is a pretty bad score, I've never seen anything like that. If it gets that though, it probably means that it isn't a great game, but they may have overdone it with that. I don't know. I don't play Gundam at all, so I can't really voice my opinion on how well the games are, but ratings in most cases don't mean much. They give you guidance on whether it's worth putting YOUR money down to invest in this game. Might want to search around for other ratings and previews as well.
