If you have not seen past episode 50, then please exit this thread now due to the fact that this thread contains info somewhat on the spoiler side.
Okay, first off, Kurapica is trying to kill the Spiders in order to exact revenge for the slaying of the Kurata tribe, but I thought it was the Phantom Brigade that killed his tribe?
I am pretty sure I also saw the Spiders referred to as Genei Ryodan...if the Spiders aren't Ryodan then what exactly is Genei Ryodan?
Ok, this question is puzzling me very much...WHY THE HELL IS KURAPICA SO POWERFUL??? Ubougin is ridiculously powerful (I'll start my rant on him in a minute) yet Kurapica is able to squeeze him to the point of him passing out???
Ok...now Ubougin...this guy annoys the hell out of me...I hate godly characters with a passion...takes what little realism is left in the show and completely destroys it. Now I know the show is fake...but common...immune to bullets and a frigin rocket...that's pushing it.
And who's this chick with the vacuum??? How the hell is her vacuum alive??? How can she suck the poison out of his body without removing any organs or anything? Is the vacuum strong enough to suck around everything and specifically target every particle of posion in this guys body? Oh yea...how the hell does it suck up bodies?
Well, I hope you can provide some insight on these questions and please don't harp on me and say, "It's a kids show blah blah blah stuff happens etc."

1) Kurapica, not Killua.
2) The Phantom Brigade and the Spiders are referring to the same group.

Think of it this way: The official name for the group is the Genei Ryoudan, which translates in English to Phantom Brigade (Genei means phantom, ryoudan means brigade or group). They're just nicknamed the "spiders" ("kumo") because their symbol is the spider and they wear it on their backs.

If you'll recall, when training to be able to materialize his judgement chain, his master taught him that if he was to impose conditions and restrictions upon his power, his strength would increase. The stricter the restrictions he puts forth on himself, the stronger his power gets. Now, Kurapica, being very bitter against the spiders for a good reason, imposes on himself a very harsh condition, that he would die if he used anything past his ordinary nen use against anyone but the spiders. Since his sole motivation for fighting is pretty much to get revenge on the spiders, this is a very reasonable restriction to him. Therefore, the power he uses against Ubougin is much, much greater than his ordinary strength, because it is the power he can unleash only against the spiders.

Well, her name is Shizuku, and she's part of the Genei Ryoudan. As for her odd powers, you have to remember that this series, while being quite sophisticated and thoughtful at times, is shounen, and realism is probably the last thing the manga-ka and producers are aiming for.

Well first off Killua isn't trying to kill the Ryodan ( who are the black spiders) he's just helping out. Kurapica got his power from extensive and harsh training, He seems really powerful when fighting the Ryodan because he made an oath that his powers would be specified to the Ryodan and his powers would be able to destroy them. Thats why he defeated Ubougin with ease. Ubougin is very powerful in hand to hand combat because he part of the reinforcement group and is very experienced in that group. Him being immune to bullets is do to his very refined Nen powers in his specified group so he's the only one that can do that aside from other reinforcement type users. The chicks vaccume being alive is because that the manifestation of her Nen and she happened to make a living vaccum due to the fact thats her special attribute the abilty to creat a "mini black hole". I would assume she has alot of control over what she asorbs and what she doesn't but I assumed she also suck up some blood along with the poison like what you do when bitten by a snake. Hope that sorta covers it though some of what I said may not be entirely accurate since its been months since I saw it.
Edit: Well Frentymon beat me to it...but yeah don't forget that realism isn't really what they were worried about, this isn't anything historical or anything.

Since we've covered that this is a "post ep 50" discussion, I'm only tagging things that happen after the York Shin arc, since I assume the OP hasn't seen Greed Island yet.

Plus, Krapica is a member of the Kurata tribe, and is supposedly more powerful in Nen than normal when his red eyes are going. It's mostly the conditional thing though. Conditions are a big part of Nen technique, all the best ones have fun conditions to them to make them more powerful. Like if you were moderately weak, you could still make a Nen attack that could instantly kill anyone by specifying that it would only work on one specific person, and only on July 12 2007, and only if he was at a ball game, and only if you were to tap him on the head with a live chicken, etc., etc., etc., and it would be thousands of times stronger than if it were a more general move.

Actually I think most reasonably experienced Nen users seem to be bullet proof, or at least around that tough. Ubougin is depicted as being tougher than average for someone of his class, but the Nen armor techniques that Cupcake teaches Gon and Killua are in that class of technique.
Oh, and Nen creations CAN be at least "semi-alive". They don't have their own souls most likely, and they can't outlive their owners, and they probably don't need to eat or sleep or anything, but there are numerous examples of Nen users creating "puppet" type Nen-constructs that seem to be able to act independantly (within certain parameters). This is shown quite a lot in the next major arc, considering that most of the "humans" that appear in that arc are in fact someone's Nen constructs.

Godly ?!! Around natural humans probably but inside the Hunters world, his powers is much much less comparable to what you would call Godly. Ubo coming from The reinforcement is the most balance out of all group, however The measure of how much strength someone has ins't equivalent to someone who has more intelligence. Which is one of the good trait i like about this anime, "look strong or powerful but without intellingence i'm weak". Gon is the perfect example of all this, since from the hunter exam he always has been describe as a strong person but if you see him in the greed island arc and the chimera ant arc his efforts are almost pitiful. With this said noone actually in hunter x hunter is godly no matter how well it seems.

I would suggest you to re-watch episode 45 again since this episode holds half everything that explains about Nen. She can shape any object that she wants but the ability of that object only comes to her will and also this object is something materialize with her aura and not something to as completely real. Besides don't forget that she's materialization type as kurapika and just as kurapika controls his chains it's the same as how she control her vaccum.
