Big O season 3?

Will there ever be a third season of Big O? For the people who watched it, you might be aware that the last episode of season left even more questions to be answered. The creators gave hints that the series is not over but there seems to be no progress in a 3rd season. Does anyone know if there will be a 3rd season?

Doubtful, the reason why that ending is the spoiler[reset] ending is because the series was cancelled to low rating.....I do believe that the series was going to be continued for another season. But I doubt now that we will ever see anything else....much like many other shows.

When Big O was originally picked back up for new episodes, there was an option to produce a third season alongside the second season. And, in fact, the series' producers went ahead with the series expecting to be able to use that third season to wrap up the story. But for reasons unknown (though theories abount, including some Adult Swim execs having some weird "thing" against the series), Cartoon Network pulled out of the third season option, forcing Big O to wrap up rather quickly and rather suddenly with that whole Big Venus mess you see now.

Or at least that's as far as I've been able to piece the story together. Basically, a third season was originally planned, but internal politics led to it being cut and the writers ad-libbing an ending for the second season. Chances for that third, conclusive season being produced now are slim to none, unfortunately.

Who is this "they" there are lots of shows and movies I wish that continued (Chrono Trigger 2, not Chrono Crusade or Radical Dreamers....yea Square I am talking to you.) but they don't. That the hard fact, talk to the firefly fans and you will start to feel really bad for them....that was a good show that was pulled early because fox didn't get X-files numbers.

Beside I don't that Cartoon Network/Adult Swim is going to kick in any money to get the project moving....and that basically what is needed in order to get the show back on. On a side note does anyone know the numbers Big O pulled in? Between Gundam Wing and Mobile suit Gundam? I figured the first season did well enough, but what about season 2?

I was a rabid firefly fan. The movie did a good job wrapping things up but they should never have killed Wash. Crying or Very sad
