Awesome....I finally got to see the original Giant Robo OAV not to along ago and they were sweet, I can't wait to see how these turn out. Not only that it's nice to have some information about this series that I can read.....

But, no Gin-Rei.
And no Imagawa according to Gunota's interview dated September 16th courtesy of AoD forum.

Awww, I've been hoping for something along the lines of the Giant Robo OVA since I first saw the Japanese website months ago, not something based on the live action show. I want more Magnificent Ten!

No Celestial Nine or Magnificent Ten? No Experts of Justice or Big Fire? No Chujo, Go, Tetsugyu, or Murasame? Bah.
That isn't to say I won't watch this. I highly doubt it'll be as good as The Day The Earth Stood Still, though. Last edited by penguintruth on Sat Oct 14, 2006 9:25 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Giant Robo was the best anime ever made, and that's not an overstatement. I'm very worried about this new series. It seems to be "Giant Robo" and not "Mitsuteru Yokoyama Fun Hour" like the OVA. I mean, no Kenji?

This website isn't an official english language website (there won't be anymore..... until it's licensed in regions outside Japan and the the licensors will obviously have that option to post their own regionalized websites), this is and will be the official website for the anime in Japan. Japanese text will follow on the same site, the production staff is trying a new angle with the approach and it's already getting alot of attention.

So a new animated 'Giant Robo'. I take it this series will revolve more around the original live-action series. If that is the case then I'd be curious to see what they come up with. I think I can only remember seeing possibly one 'Johnny Socko' flick, while not knowing it's title. Or knowing it was a show from Japan. Yet I knew it wasn't from the USA.
I'll be interested to check this out. I just hope that they will have a style set for it and a decent budget to pull out what they plan to pull out. But will it be as good as the OVAs? Well... it would be unfair to compare the two. That's like comparing 'Blood the Last Vampire' to 'Blood+'. They share some things similar but not all. But it's not to say you won't enjoy it all the same. But hey, let's just wait and see. I'm more saddened about the loss of the creator. If this is a way to honor him I hope that they will treat the project with great care. Last edited by Chrno2 on Sun Oct 15, 2006 6:47 pm; edited 1 time in total |
