Kinda figured that would happen. Hell, I knew from the beginning that would happen.

It never occurred to me, for some reason. But Aniplex's premium release doctrine + Trigger's enthusiasm and talent = a high-quality home video product, in my mind.

Sure can't wait to sell a kidney on the black market to afford this. I don't care if Trigger stuff needs premium products like this, it's unfair to people who want the series at a reasonable price. But seeing how we've had this discussion a billion times it's no use bringing it up.

In other news, dogs bark. Confused

I don't care how "high quality" this show turns out to be. It could come packaged with the blood of Christ and I still wouldn't pay Aniplex's ridiculous prices.

Well, if they of all people have licensed this show so early then I'm assuming it's gonna be worth watching. Given how much better connected they are due to their Japanese operations they tend to license stuff over everyone else if they know it's worth watching and looking to be one of the more attractive titles that season.

The licensing itself doesn't affect me at all, although it may take a little longer to get over here since it's Aniplex, but at least they are good at telling me what I should watch each season.

Good thing I didn't sell mine for Fate/Zero. Waiting pays off. Laughing

That said, it's a lot cheaper to buy a region B or multi-region BD player and import Aniplex anime from Europe once someone like MVM releases it, so that's exactly what I'll do.

The fact that it's got character designs by Sushio who's also the chief animation director, written by Nakashima Kazuki, directed by Imaishi and with Koyama Shigeto as art director should've been enough to make you want to watch it.

I'd been wondering if anyone did this. A while back our of curiosity I compared the prices I would pay in the UK for PMMM vs the Aniplex prices, and it was like 1/3 of the price.

One of the few perks of being such a small market we can't be exploited like that.

Edit: OK, so I just looked at the 3 volumes combined, US was $200 BD or $150 DVD. In the UK we can get the complete box sets for £20.75 BD or £14.39 DVD. So it wasn't 1/3 of the price, it was actually 1/6 of the price.

Yeah, i've been watching anime for like 4 years now but I still haven't learnt names of the good production people. I'm beginning to feel like it's that time now.

It was obvious, Aniplex of America picks up every Aniplex title now.

I find it really funny that everyone (including me) considers it BAD news when Aniplex USA licenses anime for the West. I swear, it'd be easier for me just to purchase the Blu-rays here in Japan...

*sigh*

Hopefully, CR will stream it. I'm not giving an overpriced sum to Aniplex, even if it is the latest project from my favorite working director Crying or Very sad

it's funny that people need to sell Blood, kidney, ect to just buy a $50 or $100 bluray.
