Ok I was watching a video on youtube comparing the original to the dub sailormoon. It was a well done video and obviously it was stating the original is better then the dub but I like the dub more so whatever. Anyway someone comments and says that Sailor Moon is coming back on tv on november 30. Does anyone know anything about this?

I'd seriously doubt it, considering that every North American license for Sailor Moon (manga, movies, seasons 1-4) has expired, and we would have heard something from sources more credible than Youtube if this were real.

I doubt it. Youtube isn't the most credible source

It isn't coming back. One: Don't believe what youtube says, especially if they don't have any reliable sources to back up their statements. Two: All the North American companies' contracts for the anime have expired and it would be illegal to air the dub on TV. Three: Why on earth would Cartoon Network bring back reruns of a cartoon that's over ten years old that hasn't been aired on their network in the past four years, especially when they don't even have any new episodes to air, when they have tons of new shows that would get much higher ratings (such as Naruto, Inuyasha, and Bleach)? In short, don't hold your breath for it.

Sailor Moon is like Dragon Ball, it's a franchise that is done. There hasn't been much if any activity involving Sailor Moon over in Japan, and like people are saying, youtube really isn't the best of sources, especially when they have [stuff that doesn't need to be mentioned on this site].

About the only thing I could see coming to North America would be the Live Action Sailor Moon series. But given that it would be much harder to scrub the Japanese out of it, I'd say the best we might see is a DVD release, if at all.

The chances of Toei allowing a Sailor Moon anime being released in the US is about as likely as Osama Bin Laden appearing on a video statement and commiting suicide on camera shouting "America is Great!!'
They really don't have a good track record of releasing anime here in the states. To an extent, they are partially responsable for the horrific edits done to One Piece and Pretty Cure, and why we'll never see a domestic release of the bloodfest movie Battle Royale.

So you read a random comment on YouTube and believe it to be truthful? Wow, that's amazing. The fact that you bothered to e-mail him and are waiting for a reply astounds me even more. Most likely, the person whose comment you read (whose name is probably something like AnimeFanatic087) is just some random moron starting a rumor or believing what he heard from Joe Blow down the street who downloads anime. If Sailor Moon really was returning, we'd all have heard something by now. Sailor Moon is done. Period. And NEVER EVER trust YouTube or anyone who posts on it to give you accurate info.

I'm sorry my friend, but there's nothing to clear up- Sailor Moon is NOT going to be on TV. No one in the US currently has the rights to it. If someone had bought said rights, ANN would have announced it by now. Your YouTube person is, for whatever reason, very misinformed. They're only going to answer you with either a) an "I'm sorry, my brother/a friend/ some guy lied to me" or b) give you more innaccurate info ("My friend's cousin's nephew's college roomate knows a guy who works for CN and says it's true.")
If you want a Sailor Moon fix, I'd suggest hunting down some of those nice subbed/uncut boxes that came out awhile back. You can probably snag one cheap if you look.

Not likely -- that stuff is rare and OOP. You'd have to scour ebay and the Amazon marketplace, and for the sets of the first 2 seasons, anything selling for under $100 is almost certainly a bootleg, with some asking $200+. IIRC, Rightstuf liquidated their stock of the ADV S1 and R boxes for $60 apiece before the licenses ran out. You might have more luck with random singles of the S and SuperS DVDs, but those'll run at least $15-$25 apiece. The only way to pick up most of Sailor Moon legitimately and cheaply would be to get a time machine to go back to 2003 or 2004.

Wow, they're THAT rare? I'm really glad I got the first two seasons right when they came out (I remember pre-ordering the first one early in the summer of 2003). I was just watching some episodes from season 1 the other night. I had no idea they were that hard to come by nowadays.

They're only that rare if you refuse to use ebay to look for them. Not everything on ebay is a bootleg.
