I don't quite understand how you can say you can love the second season of Hanasaku Iroha, but then still only put it on the Rental Shelf.

Same here; it seems like it got pretty much just praise.

Well, he did complain a little bit about the relationship between Ohana and Ko, but that still doesn't seem like that would make this do so poorly.

Compared to the other Shelf Worthy items, like Toriko , Hanasaku Iroha should be Shelf Worthy.

I echo the sentiments. She really gave it a glowing review for a rental shelf show. It is definitely shelf-worthy in my opinion, when I have the cash to shell out for it...

Same here. This was the first thought I had when I was reading the review. As for me, Hanairo was an amazing experience and P.A. Works conceived this title to show off what they're capable of achieving.
The best part is that this show could've been easily adapted as a live-action drama. From the characters' movements to the subtle gestures, I'd say they were rendered with painstaking realism.

Anybody willing to bet it's a "typo" of sorts and should be shelf worthy?
I was ultimately still annoyed by Minko's character. All that time to grow and made almost no progress in her personal life and seemed to almost revert to being the same angry character seen in the first episode.
And yea, the bittersweet ending was... Abrupt. At least too much so for my taste. YMMV.

Oh. It wasn't supposed to be. I pasted that link into the wrong line, and then didn't change the color bar from the HTML I copied over from a previous review. ^^;;
Er... this is awkward now.
Good thing people read for content and not just for the rating, right?

That aside another nice self life this week I'm fairly surprised you managed to sit through all 4 of those inuyasha bamboo without going nuts "I know that I would".

Ah~~ So happy to see a very positive review of Natsume Yuujinchou! I've said it many, many times already but this is without a doubt my favorite series of all time. I've got no less than 20 Nyanko Senseis on my desk at work right now and no, I'm not kidding.
I couldn't help but find myself nodding again and again while reading Bamboo's review. This is a very touching story that is perfectly executed by Oomori kantoku and the staff at Brain's Base. There's no cutting corners, no detail left out of place. I'm so glad I was able to meet Oomori kantoku and Satou san at FanimeCon. From what they told me, it seems Natsume holds a very special place in the hearts of the staff as well, as is evident with the amazing the attention to detail. All the backgrounds are water colored! (Only Natsume and Kuragehime have water colored backgrounds.)
The manga continues to charm and I'm pretty sure there will be a 5th season in time. They need to animate the bigger story with Matoba, and there's a twist near the end of vol.15 that makes the story even more interesting. And though Nyanko Sensei will never admit it, it is quite clear that he has grown attached to Natsume.
Can't express my love for this series enough. Crossing my fingers that I can be one of the first 100 to get an autograph by Midorikawa sensei next month. =3
Btw Bamboo, have you reviewed the first three seasons as well? I can't remember reading them. Also the new OVA coming out will be about Nyanko Sensei. Since it's a mail-order exclusive, it's not likely to get a release stateside, however. Btw, your second link in the Natsume review seems to be off, and I think you meant "kedama," not "kedame."

With Natsume, the story I want desperately to see is how his grandmother fell in love (I guess, not much to go on) and actually had offspring. Overall it is a wonderful show, if they keep making it, I will keep buying it.
Hanasaku Iroha this is an example of a show somehow feeding me something I initially did not know I wanted. I did not like how this show started, but about episode 6, realized I had a winner. I give total credit to the Best First Episode tournament in the Anime forum, I think I voted against this one twice, but ended up marathoning the whole thing in short order.

I got Natsume season 4 and Vol 14 of the manga in the mail today from TRSI. Definitely very shelf worthy.
