Movie sold quite well on its debut, so there's hope!

Hah, "Final" my ass! It's been back 3 times. Of course it's going to be back again. The source material is not only popular, but the DVDs actuall sell very well, unlike other long running shounen shows! Most just watch those on TV and buy the manga, but for some reason, Japanese fans want to collect Gintama on video.

They even joke about this on the show, in their typical breaking-the-4th-wall humor.

So they really did make this film thinking it would be the final. Wow.

Anyway, I'm more shocked that even a week after its debut, it was still sold-out at the theater. They even warn you not to sell your reserved seat...

Of course it will be back.
The DVDs sell over 10k consistently and the movie has not long been out and already made a shed load of money.
Give it until next April and then hopefully it will return on TV.
