Has anyone seen this desert punk? WHAT in the world is up with the boobs? I haven't seen this yet and I'm considering it. Anyway I was checking out clips and found this, again, what is going on with the boobs in the pink bikini?? SO weird!

I just watched that trailer and am very interested in this now. I NEVER turn down watching an anime that is rated Mature. I'm surprised I never heard of this anime before. |

It's pretty simple- the main dude's a perv. The main girl's stacked. Therefore, the main dude is fantasing about the main girl's boobs in a lil' bikini top. Insert boobie joke of your choice and enjoy.
I saw and liked the first episode of this on the Newtype sampler disc, but the trailer actually persuaded me not to pick it up, for one simple reason- Desert Punk is friggin' ugly without his helmet on! Seriously, he bugs me!!! (I'll still probably get it someday, but now I'm waiting for a cheap@$$ set.) |

this show was actually pretty good. Some episodes were good, some were bad,but overall it was fun to watch. This series is mainly comedy wiht good action scens. there isn't to much plot, every most episodes are about getting specific jobs done. Even though this is a comedy, it does get kinda dark at the end.
Anybody who's interested in watching this should give it a try. There is a lot of booby jokes, but I don't think it kills the show too much. |

I personally liked all the episodes. All the characters were funny and crazy.Episode 1 was also a hilarious way to start off a series like when spoiler[Those goons were after a guy and his wife and daughter. Then they were going to rape his wife but it turned out she was ugly.]. My favorite Desert Punk lines would have to be:
"Remember kids: a smart man knows when it's time to RUN LIKE A LITTLE BITCH!" and "Your mother's a dirty whore." lol |

I've known about this anime ever since AX, which was over a month ago. And they had the DVD's at AX, so that means news of this anime was out even before that. |

The first volume was released on February 28th, and the series was licensed last year.

The Funi disk they gave out at Otakon had the first episodes of Desert Punk, Speed Grapher, Trinity Blood, and Basalisk. All 4 are actually really good. I think Trinity Blood is the best though. I have the first 4 volumes of Desert Punk. The last volume actually just came out so it's not a "new" series.

The disk has been a solid renter at my store and even enough that I make consistant sales.
