Elune be praised! Wonder what the backlash would be like if they did something like this for Inuyasha.

Saw the preview of the OVA and it looked good. It's much better done then the TV series was. It really has the same feel as the manga.

BTW There's also a new Negima manga starting done by a different manga-ka i'll be based on the new TV series.

That's kinda sad.. I wanted a redo of the manga' . Since the first series was pretty wacky doing eveything pretty much different to what and where it happens in the manga'.

But if they think the watchs want this i guess it's gonna happen. Though i'm not bothered i'll just read the manga instead and collect the first series dvd's since i'm a collector of any anime Razz

Well that's a bit of a downer. The only reason I want a faithful adaptation is because I want to see the fight scenes animated...

My interest in it was pretty much shot though, so I can't really get excited, and I'm going to have a difficult time watching the first episode. Oh well. I really hope they at least make it Negima!, with the mix of harem high school love love wacky comedy and excellent action. If they just make it love love wacky comedy, I'll be pretty disappointed.

As much as I'd like a better adaptation of the manga, I'm actually interested to see how they will do with this spin-off.

lol Y'know, I never thought about that. But it'd prob'ly be pretty scary. Wink

Anyway, regarding a new storyline for Negima; I wodner what it will be, and what or not it will be better than the manga's? I was surprised to hear about this... hmm... This merits further investigation.

The animation alone looks really good, hopefully they'll have a good story to go along with it.

Well I really wanted it to be based on the manga and I have to watch the first episode to see how it looks. It may hurt for me if the tv series is aimed for children and if storyline is not good. The preview of the OVA was not as bad as I thought it would be.

Wait, did Akamatsu sell the rights to Negima to allow them to create a spin-off? Or did he write it himself?

The original manga is pretty damn good... I wonder how the new series will hold up to it.

I'm sure he has little to do with the creation of the new anime. There is also a new manga that is also a spin-off that will be coming out and he won't be making that. I'm figuring he just gave the okay to do the spin-off and didn't have anything do with it beyond that.

The guy puts too much trust on other companies to do his work correctly. Then again, his harem series had KILLED the harem genre. Everybody else? They don't have a freaking clue.

ARg...I don't know where it is right now, but on a Japanese Website making an announcement for the new anime it states that it is a Children's anime and is mostly about fighting. The manga is going to be in CoroCoro Comics...which is where pokemon, doraemon, and the like are in :\

oh my God! Shocked

Well at least the Negima OVA Haru wont be aimed for children from what I have seen from the preview. The animation is excellent from what I have seen. I wonder when that will come out.

I'm gonna have to agree with HitokiriShadow and say he most likely didn't have much, if any, involvment in this "new Negima" project. I was wondering which way it'd go, a younger target or just a different group than the manga-based one. Wink
btw, does anyone have a link to a site (Japanese or otherwise) that might have screenshots of it? I'd like to see the artstyle for myself.
