Ultra Blue is Utada Hikaru's new Japanese album, out June 14th. I was wondering if anyone else was planning on getting it. I've been a huge Hikki fan for awhile, and I'm really looking foward to getting this album. My favorite singles were Keep Tryin' for its happy tune, cute lyrics, and amazing video, and Be My Last, for its softness, heartbreaking lyrics, and Hikki's vocal performance, which I think is one of her best yet. I also like the other singles as well though! |

I hope they release it stateside like they did with Exodus. If so, Def Jam better promote her better.

Ultra Blue will not be released in the US. IDJ only signed Hikki for one album. Also, Ultra Blue is a Japanese language album under her Japanese record label, EMI. It's worth the money though. The singles were really good, and 'This is love' from the noodle commercial sounds nice as well.

er i gave the album a go.. its ok
seriously the only songs i like is basicly the singles the rest are wtf and colors? that songs is like really old sort of didn't fit in with this album to me :S |

really? damn...it was expensive too.
i like hikki-san but i seriously wish she wouldnt recycle all those old singles onto a brand new album! (although i do LOVE colors) |

Colors and Dareka weren't on any of her albums, beside the singles, and Colors being on the Single Collection. But oh well. I think she should put them on there, as I'd like to legally own Dareka, since it's too expensive for me to buy all of her singles.(I already have the Single Collection)

yeah thats true actually. i have the Single Collection too, but i don't have all of her stuff so i think most of the songs on Ultra Blue WILL actually be new for me... well either way i've already ordered it and i think it'll be worth it! |

I've heard a few of her songs and they're really good. She has a great voice. Another artist that's really good is M-flo. I believe she did a few songs with Utada Hikaru as well. I can't remember the title. If i do i'll be sure to post it for those interested.

The only m-flo/Hikki collab is when they remixed Distance. Sophisticated album, but my favorite Hikki will always be from around the time of her 2nd album. |

That one's Distance. That's a really good album, but I'm a fan of Deep River myself. But I love all of her albums...even Exodus!

Final Distance is when she re-wrote it as a ballad. the m-flo Distance remix was when they chopped up the song and gave it a new beat.

m-flo isn't a "she", it's made up of two guys, though they used to have a female member, Lisa, but she left for a solo career. Verbal and Taku Takahashi are the names of the guys that make up m-flo.

=D I bought mine in March and I'm glad I did!!! It's considered her best album yet!!! All her songs in the album are really worth listening to!!! yeah since like most cd's usually have 2-3 songs that sound boringish.......however all the songs in that album are great <3!
I wish someone would make a really good Utada thread... |
