Just watched the PV and the scene at the end... Too many lines on the body if you ask me. Kinda reminds me of Baki the Grappler, though not quite as extreme.

As a girl, I'd kind of prefer it if KyoAni didn't make it so obvious that they're targeting a female audience (and more specifically fujoshi) with this one. We'll see how things go.

KyoAni's animation is sooo good; they make swimming look so intense! I wanna go to their studio and hand out muffins and fistbumps to everybody working there. |

Same here. And yeah lmao - as per, what? Most things KyoAni animates, over-dramatic is key. This looks like it'll be a fun, even action-y series if done right. I'm hoping it can strike a balance between the school life/emotional side and the swimming/competitive for a truly great anime (in a similar vein as Chihayafuru? One can only dream). As a parting note: As a girl I laugh at the silliness of people getting up in arms over some blatant fanservice, when anime as a whole has delivered that in veritable truckloads for years. And if we really want to get into the petty girls-vs-boys' targeted demographics, I ask you: When's the last time we saw an anime show off its cast of scantily-clad, ass or chest-bearing girls? |
