This keeps getting worse. So in this game we have no parties, only one character (Who I'm not very interested in) and the enemies are my favorite characters from previous games?

I'm disappointed to hear it won't make it over here this year... trailer looks really good though. That new girl is really cute... I love her voice too. Augh at no dual audio.
1 party member doesn't really bug me, personally. |

The game continue to looks like it runs like crap and the story sounds even more bats** crazy stupid. I mean how the heck do we go from XIII to this. I liked XIII, but you really are trying to make me hate it Square and it's working if this is what you think is acceptable.
XIII was not some fantastically done game, but there was some logic to what the heck was going on. How the hell do you go from a story that was basically "these gods control people and issue terrible fates and here's these dual worlds that are opposed to each other as well". It's an interesting premise that the first game mostly screwed up, but did some ok things with. Then the 2nd game tries to tell us of a story that's basically "for every action there's a reaction, that "oh you changed destiny, but well there's still a consequence". Oh that's cool, but were Square enix and we can't tell stories for squat so lets tell this story that most asinine way possible. Lets add time travel for no reason. XIII's universe was already filled with stuff, and yet it didn't touch time travel, so of course we have to add it for no reason other than we are hacks! And then instead of dealing with it sensible, we won't. Will have characters who decide that freezing themselves until the future is fine! Damn the harsh realities of what that would entail! This FF! We don't tell good stories anymore. And then bad stuff happen even more which brings us to a story even more removed to the narrative of the first game! There's a prophecy and it deals with Lightning even though the strengths of XIII's story was that this cruel fate was put on average people! Screw that, Screw story integrity! We need to force this marketable character down people's throats! And while her Uniform made some sense in the previous game, screw that we have to go even more nonsensical with her costume designs, Capes! Capes! Flowy things! Spikey things, Who care's, Not like these games have any logical thought process behind these things anymore. Character's just need to look cool! Not make sense in the world they inhabit. Oh and add a Gundam shield. Should we have any semblance of where Lightning's character came from before? You know the girl who was a meh ranked soldier? No! Screw that! Really, just screw all of the groundwork from XIII. Lets just continue making up stuff for the heck of it. Everyone's in the future for whatever reason! Don't think about it! Lets add this Sarah looking girl so people who like that kind of thing can eat it up. Hey at least she seems to have a personality unlike that character. Music sounds nice though. This game looks beautiful. I have enjoyed every minute of the XIII saga and I can't wait to play the conclusion.

As a Lightning fangirl, I am looking forward to an entire game dedicated to her.
Since there are no parties, I wonder if they'll base the gameplay off FFVII: Crisis Core? If so, I can totally get behind it. |

That collectors box looks sexy, but quite pricy I think (for me at least). This is good and all, but unless they say something about versus this E3, I can't say I care too much for anything else SE puts out

We like their games just fine - the ones from before around 2003, i.e. before the Square Enix merger. But the past ten years have not been kind. |
