I wonder if the GuP committee knew they had a hit on their hands at the beginning.

And I'm a bit surprised that Vividred is doing 5k. Which is still probably low for what they wanted in sales.

GaruPan had no clue of the hit they'd created. Initial estimates were that 5k would be good. 35291 for this volume first week, wow! #1 hit of the season, total bolt out of the blue.

And LoveLive! is the hit of the winter season, another dark horse taking #1. 15982 is actually slightly up on v2w1 which had 15249.

While Vividred's initial estimates were something like 12K. You forgot to add the DVDs from the other post:
animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-06-04/japan-animation-dvd-ranking-may-27-june-2

Which puts Vividred 3 at over 6056 units. This is down slightly from v2w1 which sold 6348 but is not a huge drop. It is the usual volume to volume drop which usually happens unless there is some special extra included in a later volume.

Yuyushiki 2230, poor thing but could have been worse. No DVDs showing, can't remember if it came out on DVD or not, otherwise we might see a few more on Thursday.

2612 for my poor Sakurasou 5 including the DVDs.

To Love Ru 6 9470 including DVDs. 9041 for Little Busters 6, still getting beaten overall but higher in BDs.

Nyaruko-san W 4408 is a disaster as the first season v1 sold 9200, 50% drop.

Jojo's 15282 is a drop, sold 16583 last volume.

Karneval has a live event ticket included in vol. 1 from what I remember.

So I'd expected a pretty hard fall for later volumes.

Finally GuP takes the first slot. It's always been beaten by other things until now.

Awesome, ain't it? I hope this means Sentai will give it a proper treatment.

I'd like to see ANN give it proper treatment, too. Other than when Bamboo gave up on the show too early, there haven't been any reviews of the show's streams. Maybe ANN wouldn't give it a glowingly positive review, but I'd like to see a constructive one...

I bought GuP #5, along with Yamato 2199 #5 (more people should be buying this one, since it's so US-friendly!), and Eva 3.33 (although the latter was purchased back in April). I forgot to include Vividred in my May order. ^^;

...and that is why I never listen to The Stream Razz
